wont be at coomera but will try and cut you of at the pass......somewhere

No problem.

Now that the time is getting close, do those attending want to pm me their mobile numbers, and whether they are going to meet at Coomera/when they intend to meet up so we can get some coordination happening?

I will reply with my mobile#, so things can go smoothly...

Cheers,

Micah

Shaping up quite nicely! Whereis.com.au doesn't tell you what exit number you are taking! You won't be able to miss the HUUUUGE Dreamworld and BP signs, though! I'll edit and post the exit number shortly...

Did we get an exit number?

antony

Anyone who is going got Bilsteins? Stock or Whiteline springs? Love to get a feel of them b4 I buy? Maybe someone might try my Teins and want to make a deal!?! Is someone going to post a list of confirmed participants and their cars - eg. S1/2 RS4 or RSV or RS4S and colour etc??? Someone needs to snap some pics too!

So.....

I will update as needed, but as it stands, anything more than 50% attendance will make this the largest Qld gathering so far... The more the merrier, people: let's make this a big one!

Do we have a 'time table' out lined? the day is almost upon us :)

Is it gather at 12 and leave Coomera at 1?

rough directions/route?

CB channel?

should we bring food or is the shops at the final stop?

Entertainment? Frizby etc.

Any one have a good camera/video camera?

I was never a scout, just like to be prepared :)

Working on that: sorry guys: no transport (overdue compliance plates!) means my fiance has had the car: recce run will be done today/tomorrow.

Ok: We will be leaving Coomera just after 1pm (unless everyone is there already), hence the 12-1pm meet time. The recce run will dictate which route we take: I need to check the condition of the roads after all this rain, but irrespective of which route we take, we intend to end up at Natural bridge, where there are a heap of picnic areas (no shops, but there is a cafe/general store nearby, if preferred): I will check the availability of bbqs on the recce run. One thing to remember is aeroguard: i can guarantee you'll need it, so stock up: due to the recent weather there are more mozzies than normal. Bring a ball/frizbee/whatever: there are some nice park-like areas.

As for cb channel: I am a novice in that area: if those who have them bring them, we can decide channel etc on the day, I guess.

I have yet to receive a heap of contact numbers/confirmation pms, so here's my number: 0413003013. If you're running late/not going to make it etc, give me a call.

That's all I have for now: I will post again when I have been for a drive!

Let me know if I've forgotten anything.

Cheers,

Micah

EDIT: I just checked BOM: at this stage, the weather is supposed to be fine on Sunday (keep those fingers crossed!).

Phew! I have driven for over 4 hours through the hinterland today! It is awesome: just the kind of roads our cars like: high speed sweepers, great tarmac....just lovely!

So, aside from getting a flat tyre and damaging one of my rims (ouch!), I have finalised the route!

From Coomera, we will head south on the Pac HWY to Oxenford, where we turn west and head inland, over Mt Nathan (sounds more mountainy than it actually is: all sweepers, no hairpins). Once at the end of mount Nathan road, we will turn south at the intersection (following signs to Natural Bridge and Murwillumbah), on a lovely piece of blacktop that will take us all the way to our final stop. In total, it's about 35-40km of nice scenery, and good touring roads.

Now, we have a choice at this stage: I have found a grerat little picnic area by the river which has heaps of seating, an undercover seating section, as well as 3 wood-fiire bbq's. There is anlso a large enough clearing to kick a ball around, etc: all very relaxing and pretty: if I can work out my phone, I'll post the snaps I took shortly. This park is imaginatively called Numinbah State Forest Park. Oh yeah, there is also plenty of parking!

I also have a contingency for if the park is too crowded/the weather turns foul, etc: If we pass the park, and drive a further kilometre, there is a cafe on the left hand side of the road, in Numinbah Valley Village. It is called the Valley View Cafe. In the interest of research, I felt obliged to lunch there with Peta today, and can confirm that their hamburgers, coffee and Carrot cake are well above par! On the plus side, they have PLENTY of undercover seating, and heaps of parking. I have confirmed that they are open on Sunday, also.

I think that about covers it. Natural Bridge is about 11km further south, but their picnic area is half dug up(there are only 2 tables in total), there is very little undercover area, only 1 bbq is working, and the arch itself is off limits due to a large crack. That, and the fact that there is no open area at all made me choose the Numinbah location.

The drive in should keep everyone entertained, as stated earlier. For those who would prefer a more 'spirited drive on the way back, ithere is a turnoff that takes you over Springbrook, ending up at Mudgeeraba/Robina (about 2km from my place), that is a very challenging drive, so if anyone feels the need to, I would be more than happy to join you!

Either way, it should be a great day. Like I have said before, the more the merrier: you know you'll have fun!

If I've forgotten anything, please feel free to let me know, and I'll sort it out.

I'll bring the little things like newspaper for the bbqs and toilet paper - that's all I can think of...

Sounds like a good plan.

Really hope I can work out my cars starting issue by then, otherwise i might be forced to set it on fire.......

Plus hit a cat on the freeway last night, put a nice crack in the front bar. HATE CATS!

Either way, come with us! It would be nice if everyone can bring their car, but it's still a good chance to check out everyone else's, and meet the guys you spend all this time chatting with, even without the 'correct' car.

    • I havent bought a manual cover for the dash yet and no cluster change, won't bother me too much, I just need to get that auto box gone, manual in! I miss my manual. 🤪. We started last weekend and managed to get the box out. Planning to start putting it in this weekend and then order a single piece tail. We were super careful to take time and not damage anything. It's my first time working under the car.  With my S15 mainly worked in the bay. This time, it was a headache because of three or four bolts only. They simply didnt want to leave thei homr and the one securing the tailshaft, another above the GB, and the one securing the lipstick was a shit. Mates mate, Davo caught fire 🤣, nearly opened his chest up with a grinder 🤦🏽‍♂️ and both mates nearly had a plate from the box land and slit their head open. Fun times. We all survived. Not the easiest working with limited access on jackstands. As I'm sure we can agree these are the memories which make us love our car. For all three of us, was an awesome weekend and Sunday 3.30am before tools down was a fantastic effort. I need to upload pics, but looks like it needs to be via Url now. We used to be able to just upload pics back in the day. It's been that long! 🤪 Im currently spraying rustoleum under body, not because it's rusted. It's super clean, but just so it's protected for the next 10 years. There was a few surface rust spots. Which pretty much wiped off with a 3M scourer.  Really impressed with how well the previous owner maintained it. Bank account went down so quick! Service, then GB - managed to get a spanking new 34 genuine box from Nissan. All the rest of the conversion parts from Kudos.  Went with a Nismo short shifter. New pedals and Exedy Clutch and FW. Ordered the Prp Rear Main Retainer kit which should arrive Friday and my first engine mod part just like I did with my S15 will be the Tomei Expreme Turbo Outlet. Already on order. It'll likely sleep next to me on a pillow during the coming months. 🥰 Last build was on my JET200GT profile and on SAU and Hardtuned I had documented the build. Planning to try to do that again. Brands feel scarce now. Wish we still had ARC and Apexi parts readily available. Exhaust - need some advice on this. I had an Apexi exhaust on the S15 and loved the tone. My mate had a HKS HP Silent on his 33 and suggested I go with that to avoid drone. I can't remember hearing an RB25DET running that so will likely need to wait for a meet or something to hear it.  Not after big power, just enjoy building it, and drivability with minimal negative attention.
    • Have a chat with Ben at Moore Performance or Jesse at JS Performance.
    • Thanks both. All good advice. Reminds me of drilling through stone wall for drainage pipe 😬 I'll let you know how I get on if I still have use of my hands afterwards 😅
    • Finally got shipping number for the intake and throttle body, shipped by UPS, so "should" be in my hands sometime next week, fingers fracking crossed
    • I'm so far behind in the jobs I have to do at both work and home (including car) that I have become immortal. There's simply no way that I can die now.
