hey guys

need peoples opinion. i'm looking at importing a R34 GTR later on and wanna know is it better to import it privately from japan myself or wether i should go thru a company?

i've heard both good n bad things that could happen to both sides of import it privately or thru company.

also is it hard to fish around for a bayside blue coloured gtr?

i think that you should go through a company if you arent viewing it first, companies like imports101 have people in japan who inspect the veichles before you purchase them, importing privatly you might receive a car that has had the odometer wound back excessively and been in previous accident. plus if you go through and import place you should get warranty, do you know if there is much price difference from privatly importing or through a company?

You cant wind back digital displayed km unless you swap the dash I think and there arent may GTR 34's around so I think you'll find most later GTR's have genuine km...perhaps. Personally I dont think I could buy a car thats worth $50k plus and not even look at it

Got my car through www.j-spec.com.au and Ben Lippa sorts out everything for ya! Just sit back and relax and wait for your phone to ring ALOT!!

But for 1k, he does alot of work for you.... all paperwork, inspection reports etc... pretty much everything to get you through the whole process... negative side.. took 3months to arrive at docks from payment date!!

No regrets though!!!

For the record digital dashes can be altered. It was notorious in the Toyota Soarers. Apparently you can connect to them via a laptop and reset the display! These were hard to detect for auctioneers, only bad reinserting of dash and console left behind evidence of tampering. As for the R34, not sure?

Even iron chef imports he is a top bloke and goes over to japan everynow and then and hand picks the cars himself.

pretty cheap broker fee aswell :D

i'll have a look thanks wes=)

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
