Ok. Firstly before i start let me just say i'm new to ranting so if its not good just bare with me. This is in regards to the fact that now NSW police are now supposedly driving undercover Subaru WRX's, Ford Falcons, etc, with P plates on. As far as i was aware, to drive a police vehicle you need to be on your full lisence (can someone clarify this for me?) And also the fact that if a full lisenced driver, accidentally leaves p plates on their vehicle (child is on p plates or something) and the cops see this, they are pulled over and fined! A bit hypocritical don't you think?

And by using p plates to try and get "hoons" (i think they're referring to us in that ) to slip up, isn't that some form of entrapment? Surely what they're doing can't be legal?

If anyone wants to join in on my rant please you are more than welcome to.

And i apologise if this is a repost.

Thanks for listening

Nick

I'd say its some form of entrapment if the accused person of an incident was encouraged or somehow tempted to drive negligently by an officer in a vehicle with p plates on or undercover in a car trying to entice you into driving illegally.

If it were me i would be straight on the phone to my solicitor to ask what my rights were thats for sure.

But ill be honest i havent seen any undercover cop cars with p plates, in my area they are all driving F6 Typhoons & they are very EASY to spot!

thats my 2c.

they have a typhoon in sydney with "000 Race Team" sticker across rear window. Looks like a rip off of the "888 race team" I think its very wrong for a govt. dept. to have such a thing on a tax payer funded vehicle.

1.) tax payers money is not used to fund the "fancy" cars for the cops like the Lotus Exige or Typhoon or XR5 etc.

The manufacturer LOANS them to the cops to get publicity.

Your tax money goes on their wages, doll bludging bogans and council workers that sit on a tractor mowing a field.

2.) Is there an article on SMH.com.au or anything about it?

when was it printed that they "might" be using P Plates to lure street racers?

Witnessed it on Cleveland St Chippendale (Sydney) a few months ago. Blue BA Falcon with white GT stripes and red P plates. Theres a thread in the NSW section swomewhere.

Also, with the restrictions on P plate drivers wouldnt a P plate on a brand new perfomance vechile make them stand out?

I got no problem with cops cracking down on the real idiots but surely theres a better way.

The vehicles are leased ya bonehead, and photo's of police proudly standing next to vehicles was shown in last weeks paper. It was warning people they were out in these vehicles and to think twice before you act.

Also council rates pay for council services...not taxes...if you owned a house you would be aware of this.

here's a link for the story...better photo's were in paper with police posing with their "hoon" patrol cars

I Have experienced One of these Guys, Was a V8 Ford Falcon with 000 Racing stickers at the back he tried Geeing me up , I Laughed at him the guys dumb i had a look at his car you can see things hanging out of his Dash were not all Stupid ... I guess you just have to be very careful .....

Yeah vechiles are leased, Same as being bought , Thus Us Tax payers payings for them to be leased ....

well the best way is to fight them back with just having a camera handy to tape it while they trying to rev you up and put it on youtube :D iv seen a wrx in perth that went mental at the roundaboubue nearly losing it and they were undercovers tryina rev me up !! i just wish i had the cam at the time.. but ya do to them what they do to us and they will learn not to f**k around.

they arent ment to rev ppl up they just ment to blend and spot speeders not intrap ppl how ever there is no law against intrapment here even tho they shouldnt technicaly be doing it.. so watch out.

This issue seriously pisses me off... I'm not one to drive like an idiot, but I get the looks anyway...

My induction noise (standard box) is louder then any other car I have heard (except the gas supra)...

It's cheap and it's trickery... I don't appreciate it at all being on my Ps still... Not to mention if they are going around egging people on, that gives us an even worse name, when it is the cops themselves doing it!

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
