Hey guys. I'm considering to lowering my Stagea. Currently is on standard height with my 18x8's on it. I'm considering lowering it by 1 - 1.5 inches. I want it to look nice and low but able to carry back passengers, cargo and get over speed humps but not make it too illegal.

A friend of mine said to get some Kingsprings..

What ideas can you give me and how much would it cost

bilstein shocks from Sydneykid on this forum http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St...mp;hl=group+buy

can also get his whiteline springs.

also a rear camber kitwill be needed; front camber kit, front castor kit are also money well spent.

I would do the Shocks/springs/bushes then whatever/whenever, or shocks/bushes then whatever/whenever.

Doing just springs will damage the shocks, using the Height adjustable bilsteins shocks will be awesome!

SK kit all the way. I just got mine readjusted to the lowest of the SK settings, and it is awesome! Still a reasonable height, too. For reference, I run 18s as well, and the ride is firm, but acceptable.

Sorry to hijack this thread but has anyone used the Tein coilovers on a stag yet?

Yes, got TEIN super wagon's on mine, good firmness, not too much though, height adjustable, just be sure to grease the pillowballs before you install, squeak, squeak

Fantastic - how low does it go? I want it to be LOW :P

Of course i'm going to replace the shocks on it. Was considering getting Bilstein shocks as well. I've got a few really good suspension places where I live and can give me some good advice (good friend of mine works for at one of those places)

A few of my mates have advised me to install Tien goodies. but I really can't justify the pricetag and for me personally I don't see any great use for me

Check out my thread, StageaNut and Jason. Am VERY busy atm but have two offers on the table in regard to swaps. Depends where you are. My avatar pic shows my Teins at very close to the top of their adjustment range. Will drop so that tyres are inside the guards, comfortably! They are similar to Super Wagons but are slightly firmer in the front and slightly less firm in the rear (to match weight distribution). PM me if you like.

Ok just went around and visited my mate after work to talk shop...he's convinced my to go with Tein coilovers - either Hybrid Wagon or Super Wagon... He's going to get back to me with prices...One thing i'm not going to install is the EDFC Controller from what i read it requires the rear tops to be cut out and not able to use the rear shade (knowing my luck it would have to be cut out regardless)

Can you tell me what the difference is between the Hybrid Wagon and Super Wagon Coilovers??

SK do you still have the link for suspension settings. i can't find it on the Group Buy page.

I have fixed the link in thre Group Buy thread

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St...lin-t85592.html

The recommended settings are also in the Stagea Suspension thread

Most people find the Japanese spec Teins to be too harsh, so be careful in your choices. Adjusting the rebound damping has almost zerro effect on the ride comfort, so shock adjustablility won't help you.

go for a ride in a car with teins, then go and buy bilsteins :D

Well that's the reason I don't Teins...I've got two mates with Tein Super Streets installed (one in a skyline and the other in an 180SX) and my god the ride was frim if not hard.

I'm going to some very good suspension places in my area and shop around for some prices.

    • That looks good, but I think you're going to need much beefier side skirts now.
    • They are daft and there's a reason it never caught on. Steering feel? We don't need no stinking steering feel!
    • I gotta pull you up on this. It's driving me crazy. A shutter is something that closes, like over a window or in a cmera. The word you want is shudder. That LSD is clearly f**ked. Take it to a diff shop and get it disassembled and examined by an expert. YOu might have plates welded together or something equally crazy.
    • Define "starting to fail". Wy not just rebuild them?
    • Check the Nistune doco. There are a few assumptions being made here that might not be valid. I will list the things that occur to me: Base map. Base map for what? Base map for Z32? Then the cranking pulse width is probably wrong for an RB25. The extra 500cc of capacity might well be enough to prevent it from catching. Base map for RB25? I don't think you can load one of those into a Z32. You have to just make the settings correct for an RB25 in the Z32 base map. That is either K or the TIM to get the pulsewidth right. Loom. You bought a loom for an RB. And you plugged it into a Z32 ECU. Did you make sure that any iwre differences were swapped. From memory, there's at least a couple. And as per the others, I would suggest making sure that the fuel pressure is correct while cranking and that the injectors are actually flowing as expected. They really must come out and go on the bench, unless you do find that you have messed up as per above points. I would also suggest watching in Nistune to make sure that everything is reading correctly. That the correct binary flags are raised at the right time (like the crank signal), that there's no stupid values in K or TIM. That you have not got mismatched firmware for the ECU and/or a wrong image loaded.
