Here is the story,

I parked my car in my garage, I closed the garage door and didn't take my car out for five days. When I opened the garage again a cat ran out and the place smelled of you could imagine. The car was locked up but I left the sunroof open a wee bit and the sucker got in and clawed my seats during the five days ( Can't beleive the sucker lived for 5 days no food or water ?!) I found the owner of the cat ( die cat die ) and she said she can't afford to pay for the repairs.

This is a little hard when she is paying a mortgage by herself and with two little ones ( Her Ex is an absolute asshat ). I am sort of stuck with my morals because i know she doing it tough and is a stand up classi chick ..but hell ! my interior which was perfect for a ten year old car is now a little shabby. There was not a mark on the seats before, they were new ! Can I claim on Insurance maybe ??? any ideas, she tells me she can pay me $20 a week but I can imagine that will die off over time.

Advice no flames plz :D

are all ur seats fked?? ie: front and rear? There was a guy selling front n rear 34 seats on the forum no so long ago for not very much...Insurance would probably cover it but the excess would probably be more than 2nd hand seats..

Actually thats pretty rude coming from me but yeah, sexual interaction would cost atleast 12 beers and some peer pressure before I would pass a move on this one. :(

post up pics of the damage. You could explain the situation to the insurance company and see how it goes? Bit hard, but you did the right thing by sticking to your morals (atleast if she was nice about it and explained properly rather than just an abrupt "i cant pay!! now f off!!")

Yep, she knows how I am about my Cars, this is a good street with good neighbours thankfully, she just can't afford a full payout, so I am thinking insurance, anyone here in the insurance game ?

I am full comp and never made a claim after 17 years of driving and full comp insurance. A claim cost me $350 but I don't have rating 1 protection insurance ( that sh1t you never think you need for an extra $35 a year ).

any chance you could do a bit of a seating upgrade if your going thru insurance maybe get some reciepts for bride seats?

The thought crossed my mind but it all comes down to cash ! My car as good as it is, is not a GTR but a nice car all the same and I do not wont it to look something it isn't . even though it is only a Gtt I worked hard for her and paid cash on the day and took me a long time to find one this good. So yeah I have thought of it but I want to keep her as unmodified as possible. Big downer for me atm. Thanks for the input anyway bud. :D

Will get some pics going soon , the drivers seat the worst.

Yeah back seats have loops pulled thru from the suckers claws. I will take pics soon.

I freak when there is a spot on the paint work so you could imagine how I am... lol :D

man shit i am sorry to hear that, i would be tryin insurance first, then if that fails try to get some new seats...or maybe look at retrimming...though i hear that costs a bit.

you be the bad ass and sue her but she sounds like a nice neighbour so prob not a good idea.

      Even with no BOV you will have issues unless the MAF is a hot film type like the R35 which has some design features to deal with reversion. Hot wire MAFs are very sensitive.

      So i just change the (whatever is inside ma original MAF and slide the R34 MAF (it is gonna fit right in? ) and somewhere on the hot side a BoV...i presume that would be vented to the atmo? I just "trying" to understand...maybe my mechanic would know this   I would not mind(even prefer) to run stock BoV cuz it is way more than fine but i do not have that and only pipeing what is left is oem J pipe ...       Update 2: Today I'm f**king pissed. Some of you probably saw my thread that I opened shortly after joining this forum, "urgently need expert/experienced opinion", in which I discussed the possibility of a porous RB26 engine block which I also found hard to believe. Currently both turbos are out since the shitty braided line that was installed by whoever fitted the GT28 turbos leaked oil onto the exhaust. Today while working on the cam covers to put new gaskets and half moons in, I cleaned the side of the engine block with brake cleaner. Some time later I saw that it was still glistening with oil or coolant so I dried that off. But it was wet again shortly after. Verdict: I'm royally screwed. What you can see here (hopefully, despite shit resolution), circled in red, is a crack above the turbo oil feed. Extent is a few cm long and basically goes from #3 cylinder wall to #4 cylinder wall. It slowly lets coolant through, even without any pressure behind it. I am absolutely dumbfounded as to how this crack even formed, especially since it isn't along the cylinder as it usually is but rather a horizontal crack. Probably a few cm in length. Not sure on how to deal with this issue right now. Most likely, the only true fix is a new engine block, and even a relatively well done temporary fix requires at least a full engine teardown. Neither of those really fit my timetable right now, the car has been in my buddy's garage long enough as it is. I'm open to suggestions, but I'll be looking into ordering a new 05U block soon so I have one ready for the coming year, or whenever the current block inevitably fails fully. (Most likely once the crack reaches one of the frost plugs) I think it'd be a waste of money and time to rebuild the engine with this block. Oh and I found a rust hole on the side pocket of the trunk, which someone covered up with sealant goop, a piece of number plate and bodywork filler. Fun times. So far for every issue we fix we just find a new one that is arguably worse.

      I have not found this no. I put one back on a couple days ago with no drama. I agree they are tight, but no need to remove anything.
