Hey is that manual 6sp or auto? seems a little low actually, I was under the impression the V35s came stock with about 206-210kw (not at the wheels), so roughly ~158rwkw or ~211rwhp??

It's auto and actually it's too low. been serached all the stock dyno's on g35driver.com they have average 230-240hp

Its not a V35, but its close enough.

2003 VQ35DE in a Z33

JWT Popcharger

5/16" Intake Manifold Spacer

Motordyne MREV2

Reflashed factory ECU with higher redline

Unichip Piggyback

TopSpeed Extractors

Crawford Catalytic Converters

HiTech Exhaust

I've got several exhaust leaks at the moment, and the car's feeling a bit off, so I'm probably making less right now.

I've got my 2004 v35 dynoed at 153 kw at the rear wheels???

The only performance mod done is a cat back exhaust. Its no where near the 170 kw margin.

The dyno guy did have some trouble fixing the sensor into the single exhaust though. Should there be 2 sensors fixed if you've got a dual exhaust system??

Lets bring back this thread.

I dyno 177rwkw right now but picking up the V with new extractors tomorrow then i'll dyno again. (the extractors are really hard to put on)

When i got my car i put it on the dyno and got 163rwkw stock 03 auto.

Do you guys think there is about a 10kw diff in manuel and auto?

v35 paul,

i have since gone back to unigroup and redynoed my car.

i have serious doubts that their dyno was calibrated properly when the previous owner had done the 177kw run when it was stock.

I have since had the car dynoed twice since then.

First time, was after i installed the plenum spacer and CF Z-Tube car made 164rwkw. ISMR dyno.

The 2nd time, i installed the stillen Air intake, lightweight flywheel / clutch and teh Motordyne exhaust. Car made 174kw. Unigroup dyno.

I seriously doubt the mods i have done to this car have made it slower. I suspect the dyno may have been reading "happy" and have since been calibrated. the 174rwkw seems about right. The car does feel faster now than before, there is no doubt about it. So it definatley hasnt lost power.

Near when i first bought (exhaust, panel filter, tube, ground kit) - 131rwkw @ ISMR

Located and fixed overheating issue

Middle of ownership (exhaust, panel flter, tube, ground kit, HKS plugs, nismo thermostat, spacer) - 170rwkw @ ISMR

Just recently (ECU reflashed and rev limiter raised) - 182rwkw @ SAS

Car felt progressively/proportionately faster as i fixed the heat issue and added more mods. It's decent speed now, i'm very happy with it. I don't find myself thinking how i could make it faster anymore really.

Now it's more braking power i need.

Oh sorry, 03 6mt vq35de.

Edit - 182rwkw run also had gramlights on rear, a bit lighter than the factory 18"s. Even though they are wider and have larger tires on.

What did you reflash with?

Custom flash (for my engine and mods) at SAS.

A few people with Z/V have got it done at SAS.. but they are in Sydney unfortunately (if you were looking to chase that).

Car is giving 5.9s to 100 with a soft/medium launch, can't complain for n/a luxo cruiser :D

$1200.

It doesn't relearn, because they actually overwrite/write in their own data. I know one chip on the ECU actually gets replaced so unsure if AFR targets and ignition mapping is overwritten or even written onto the new chip they put in.

Proof that it doesn't relearn is the car hasn't pinged once since the flash/tune. Factory mapping had my engine pinging sometimes (quite a common problem on Z/V on forums).

If you do go ahead, just remember it's an n/a engine, don't expect massive amounts of difference before and after.

I did it more to get rid of the pinging myself. They managed to give me some noticeable mid range and top end gains however my low end suffered as ignition had to be pulled back considerably as the factory mapping was too aggressive causing the low end pinging.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
