Hello all,

I'm currently building my rb25, into a 26/27- 87mm bore, 26 crank, 1.1 mm Cosworth HG so forth. I plan to track her a few times a year at some local courses. I'm planning on either using the JUN or N1 pump, not sure yet. However I also plan to run an oil cooler. Now the question arises on what to do for my stock rb25 sump for baffling, I'm a little unsure on how you guys do them, I have access to weld in pieces/trap doors to keep the oil around the pickup, but would just like to make sure I'll be doing more good than harm.

any pics, or info would be appreciated. I've seen a ton of info on baffling for the 26 sump, just not really any for the 25?

thanks,

-Cory

Hi guys, Performance Metalcraft do a good sump, wings baffles and one way doors. Works a charm. :)

PS; I have had oil surge in an RB26, RB20 and RB30 so I see no reason why an RB25 would be any different

They are about $500

given right oil restriction mods etc as part of the build... you might not need anything at all.

Surge comes from the oil in the head, and the sumps are a band-aid fix to this.

How much power and so on are you looking at?

330rwkw GTR's here run aroudn with stock sumps, semi comps and never have issues.

Looking towards 400-450rwhp ish, depends what my 35r can toss out on pump gas, I see most people fill their oil up to the first hump on the dipstick as well. My block is fitted with dual restritors.

CS_180 I know this has been covered before, I've read numerous topics and tons of pages about it. However I have found little info on whats done to the 25 pan, people say wings and baffles, ok I understand what they do, but its the placement I am unsure of, I'd like to make sure I'm helping my pick up not hurting it.

    • A bit late but A disk S13P fit over stock R32 GTR brakes, usually A disk front, O disk rear works.
    • Or, the height of the release bearing is not correct for your combo. Start with the bleeding and checking the slave moves throughout its range when you press the pedal (2 person required), but it is possible for the height to be internally wrong too (box back off to measure.
    • Yes, there's quite a few things that can go wrong during a clutch install. Very unlikely. I have a similar clutch. They (ACS) make good gear. No, it is not normal. It is possible that you just need to bleed the clutch slave. But the new clutch will also have a more aggressive actuation force/pressure, and so your old slave cylinder might be a bit leaky or otherwise compromised, and not up to the extra force required. Or the master cylinder, same.
    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
