Hi all, I live in Tokyo, and am always looking for new places to go, things to see etc, soooooo Im looking to group together al the experience of others living here.

Therefore Id be really grateful if i can have peoples favorite places to go under the following categories.

- car parts/ accessories shop

- car yard district

- car related museums, expo area

- cruise/ hang out area

- Easiest circuit to access

- anything else

A brief discription, location etc, even web link if you can.

OK, thanks all, Il start you off.

best car related expo area - Tokyo Megaweb, the toyota expo centre in Odaiba. get off at tokyo ^^^^ station on the yuracho line (i think, anyway its the one that goes through odaiba) and walk to it. Its uhge and next to a large womens themed shopping centre, Venus Forte.

Anyway, the place has all their new cars, a museam of old/ sports etc cars, technology exhibits, and the best bit, cheap test drives on their test track. costs about Y300 only ($3) to test, but you have to book as obviously its limited by how many cars they have etc.

OK, so yeah, like that if you can.

Thanks everyone

This is what I noted down on my last Japan trip compiled from bits and pieces off this forum:

NISSAN OMORI FACTORY

Take Yamanote line to Shinagawa. Switch to/follow the signs to the Keikyu line, buy a ticket at the window to Omorikaigan station I think its 160yen from Shinagawa.

Its the first platform you see when you go thru the ticket gates. Wait for a local train. If you accidently get the express it takes you 4 stops past Omorikaigan and you have to get off and backtrack. Done this when in a hurry before its a royal pain in the ass.

Get off the train at Omorikaigan, go outside the station and take the pedestrian footbridge to the other side of the road. Go down to your left and walk for 5-10 minutes till you hit Nismo.

Once you get off at Omori which will be an above ground station walk out of the subway station. You will be on a side road. there will be a 7-11 on the right and a main intersection on your left. Take the left and then take another left so you are walking down this main road. About 3 bloacks you will see the Nismo Omori Factory on your right across the street.

CRYSTAL PARTS STORE

To get to Crystal take the train from Tokyo Station to Chiba station, hop on the Chiba urban monorail and get off at the Sports Center stop. Get out of the monorail station and head right off the escalator. Walk for 10 minutes until you see a footbridge, cross over to the other side of the road, from the bridge you can see McDonalds. Walk 2 minutes further and you will see Crystal. May or may not be interesting to you, they do have a decent selection of new GTR parts upstairs. http://www.c-jpn.com/shopguide/index.htm, 376-5 sonnou-cho,inage-ku,chiba city, chiba, japan. tel:81-43-256-1331 From Tokyo station they need to take the "Sobu Line" to Chiba Station, then from Chiba Station they need to catch the Chibatoshi-Monorail to a station called "Sports-Center", then walk north past Maccas and a toyota dealer and it should be on the left!

TOP SECRET

To get to Top Secret, I believe it is on the same street as Crystal but its more like a cab ride. You could try getting on the bus that drives past Crystal (bus stop is close by, in the direction of the station). Never done this myself tho.

UPGARAGE

Chiba Up Garage is trickier to find but pretty fun to browse thru. Take the train to Chiba station and then switch to the local line. Take the train again to Chiba Chuo station and get out and find a map. Walk to Shinjuku Park which isn't really much of a park its more like a gravelly walking park which extends south from Chiba Chuo station thru the suburban parts of Chiba. Walk along Shinjuku park until it hits a footbridge, if you walk up onto the footbridge and look to your right you will see Up Garage. Walk back down off the footbridge and head towards it.

CARREST

Carrest is pretty far out of Chiba as well but was quite a lot of fun for me. They have a JGTC GTR in the shop and the place is huge. You need to make your way from Tokyo to Shinnarashino on the JR Keiyo train line. You can probably also get there from Chiba check the map. Exit Shinnarashino station towards all the major shops and head to the parking lot exit traffic lights and turn left down the main road. Keep walking for a while, you will pass a parking garage on your left and go over a bridge, after walking for about 7 minutes you will finally see the big Carrest sign and parking lot.

SUPER AUTOBACS

As for Tokyo Bay SuperAutobacs. Take the JR Keiyo line to Shinkiba and change for the local Rinkai line. Take that train to Shinonome and get out on the side of the station facing the big freeway overpass thing. Walk towards the big freeway and go under it, on the other side you will see the signs for Tokyobay Superautobacs. The first thing you'll see in fact is the Tommy Kaira dealership.

HOPES THIS HELPS PEOPLE, SURE HELPED ME

    • Nice shot! They look super clean. The roof rack delete on the black one is interesting. Would like to see more pictures from different angles. It's subtle but could make quite a difference to how the car looks in profile.
