Hey guys,

Havn't seen much of me in the last 6 months to 1 year and unfortunately don't know too many of the new members that have joined recently. For those that don't know who I am or which one my car is, I have been involved with Stagea's since back in the days of 05 when I first got mine (was my first car). From the first moment I set my eyes on a Stagea in 04, I knew that was the car for me.

I had heaps of fun and enjoyed to be involved with this forum. I want to say thank you to all those helped me through the questions that I have had in the past and all of your input was helpful. To a degree, I wish I had all the resources that new Stagea owners have now but for those that were there for the first "what the hell is this" or "what the hell does that do" or "how the hell do we do that" threads, it was fun learning things from nothing.

The Stagea has taught me a lot not only about cars but also about driving. They are a FANTASTIC car and honestly, I feel sad in having had sold mine. If I could have, I would have kept it but I am certain that many of you on this forum know what I mean when I say I had to sell it due to other financial commitments.

Now, for those interested in what happened to the car on Saturday it boarded the spirit of Tasmania and went down to Tasmania. I know the car is going to love it down there with the cold intake temperatures and winding roads. The final price it was sold for was $17,000 AUD with 1 years rego and no RWC. The car was sold as is with EVERYTHING on the car. Interestingly, I was asked if anything broke over the 3 years I had it, and after thinking for a while actually, the only issue I had was the cracked exhaust manifold and coilpacks. So I am sure its got many more km's/years left in it before anything will go wrong.

This was the car for those that don't know: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/19...l&p=3541817. Australia's first Series 1.5 and as far as I know, one of the most modified RB25 Stagea's in Australia. Not just engine wise, but the whole car. I worked it out as having spent over $20,000 on modifications plus the cost of the front end... oh well! It was fun!

To the new owner, if you read this, please take care of her :whistling: . She was my first, and I was her first to pull her apart and replace bits, I am sure you can understand why she means so much to me, hehehe

congrats? on the sale man.

was a very nice car. and those wheels, oh my god!

hope the new owner enjoy's it as much as alex did.

i had the chance of inspecting it when alex first had it for sale, and he was very helpful and pretty cluey about his car.

it was a hard choice for me to pick a stock one over alex's, but the new owner should, and will love it. f**king quick car for its size.

goodluck for the future alex, i know how it was when i sold my skyline, and i still see it at least once a week which totally sucks anus. so at least u wont run into it on the street, then u feeling all sad like lol.

Ahhh its so sad seeing a car you've put so much effort into disapere around the corner never to be seen again (I know that pain). I saw your car for sale the day AFTER I put down a deposit on my Stagea, otherwise your car would be sitting in my drive right now, but I'm in the eastern suburbs too, so you might have caught glimpses of it from time to time.

Mind you, the Evo would certainly be putting a smile on your dial.... company car, I want your boss!

Company car.

Still saving for a house

WHOOO HOOOO !!

thats the way dude, thats the way

me old man test drove a Monaro 6yrs ago, to get on the company car scheme, got held up and carjacked at (shot)gun point

needless to say he didnt buy a Monaro =p

shotgun in the face

robbery of wallet, phone and test car

test car dealer shat himself and almost lost his head

old man did what he was told to do, and I guess they *may have said "dont buy a monaro"

:D

I think 4 out of the 6 blokes did 2yrs + for their efforts

Mind you, the Evo would certainly be putting a smile on your dial.... company car, I want your boss!

It's easy to get what you want when you are the boss hehe.

At least Alex managed to hold on to boost and AWD :/

Don't worry, I had RWD for a little, it was great but AWD is so much better. Plus, trust me, you CAN slide around an AWD just as well as a RWD.... :D

I am definitely going to consider an M35 as one of my future cars though, or if they make a 36 that would be even nicer.

    • What copper washer do you guys use on the bleeder bolts? The existing one I have I had no idea where to find it in a local store, I did buy some online but that are only 1mm thick whereas my old one is 2mm+ thick and when I put the new washer out and squeeze the top radiator hose I can hear a bit of air but not with the old one. Does this matter? The new one doesn't leak, but the inner diameter is a bit loose whereas the old one threads on the bolt.
    • Howdy all, after being out a few weeks ago on a spirited drive in my GTR I have 2 issues that oddly have appeared at the same time. Whilst accelerating quickly through the gears all of a sudden i’ve lost power at the top of third gear (below redline around 6000rpm) for no obvious reason.    From that point onwards the car has been running rich on idle, won’t really rev under load without a ton of black smoke and the odd backfire, and dying as a pull up to a set of lights unless I keep the revs up around 1500rpm. In addition when shutting down the car that same night (I was 10 minutes from home) I noticed one of the turbos was significantly noisy on wind down when shutting off the engine. After letting the car cool down overnight it starts up fine, although once it gets to temp the revs start to creep up and down, the exhaust is darker than it should be and it also sounds like it’s running rich (fat note) I’ve put a new set of plugs in it - no change, the old plugs all seemed OK with two of them being somewhat richer/fueled up than the other 3 with 1 being borderline. I’ve smoked tested the intake system via the front of the Turbos, found a split vacuum hose going to the factory boost gauge sender, which I have since replaced.  Also found another leak on the gasket coming off the rear turbo outlet, have also replaced this. After fixing both of these leaks - still have the running rich issue. I’ve also tried another pair of AFM’s - no change here After pulling off the front turbo intake pipes, there is obvious shaft play in the front turbo, which now hisses loudly on light revvs although I can’t see why this would make the car run funny even under idle. I’m curious to know why it’s running rich before I potentially replace/rebuild turbos. The car is completely stock <50,000kms  other than an exhaust. Oil and coolant are all clear. I haven’t bothered with coil packs as it looks like they won’t be the issue due to condition of the plugs. Any help appreciated as I cry myself to sleep!
    • No probs at all. I used to love trying to dig up obscure info for those in need where possible going back 20+ years on SAU.  I did have another look and couldn't come up with any closer match. I'm leaning towards those skirts in your first pic are custom fitments, cut down/extended or from another car entirely and modded to fit an R34 sedan. I would've thought someone in Japan had them and taken a photo at some stage over the last 2 decades but there's nothing. Someone out there must know surely.
    • Welcome mate. Any pics? Even with a DE I'd be well happy if I had that as a 1st car.
