Okay so far the car already has a 2.5 inch exhaust (turbo back?..hopefully) and a K&N pod filter.

What I'm probably going to get is...

- high flow cat for the exhaust (becuase I dont think it even has one at the moment, so I need this one)

- RB25 turbo (high flow)

- Trust intercooler

- Bosch 910 Fuel pump

- Electronic boost controller

- ECU remap

.. Im hoping I'll be able to run 11psi low boost, and 15-16psi high (is that reasonable??).

What do you think I'd need to budget? .... $2000? Much more?

Okay I dont even know what 'steel wheels' are... what sort of turbo would I be looking at if I wanted that?

Your stock rb20 turbo and stock rb25 turbo's have ceramic turbine wheels that dont hold together long with over 14 psi of boost. Your modified "High Flow" from slide or GCG or whatever, replaces these with steel wheels for durability.

I'd suggest adding an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to that list, if you're going to keep stock injectors. Here in the states they're $120 or so for a Nismo, thats what I have and I like it.

Good luck

-Max

- high flow cat for the exhaust $180-$400 depending on how high flowing you want it to be

- RB25 turbo (high flow) $1500-$2000 depending on who you get to highflow it

- Trust intercooler $......?

- Bosch 910 Fuel pump $250 (going by what 044's and 040's are worth)

- Electronic boost controller $375 for a Greddy Profec B

- ECU remap $150 PM CEF11E about it or you could pay up to $1000 for a workshop to do it

If you're going to be getting a highflow turbo you're going to want to get bigger injectors too

And probably new coilpacks coz the std ones would probably be dying

15-16psi would be fine

And yeh whatever your budget, add at least another half of it on top for other things that will come up and need replacing.

What the shit. $2000 for the turbo.. Is this like top of the line?

How good of a turbo could I get for $1000. I'd want it to be steel wheel/highflowed still.

$1000? 2nd hand aftermarket item or highflow.

My GT35R cost me $1600 new. I'm sure you could get a GT2530 or something for a similar price and still be reasonably bolt on.

If you want a cheap upgrade then a standard RB25 turbo for $3-400 but you won't be able to run much boost or make much power. Will certainly be better than the stock 20 turbo though.

- high flow cat for the exhaust - $300

- RB25 turbo (high flow) - hi flow cost about $2K as suggested for a ball bearing hiflow turbo.. just get HYPERGEAR turbo is about $900 from the for sale by trader section of these forums.

- Trust intercooler - probably too expensive.. get a cheap kit like GKTECK for about $400 for the kit.

- Bosch 910 Fuel pump - $250

- Electronic boost controller - Just get a manual turbotech boost controller for $40.. set it to highest you want to run. to use lower boost, use your right foot less

- ECU remap - $150 from user on these forums called CEFFIE.

that is the only way you will come close to $2K.

you're version of event will be closer to $4k just for parts.

to use lower boost, use your right foot less

Hhaha.

Okay I like your list better :D ... but what would you boost that to?? ..

have a read.

the same user/company is on these forums as HYPERGEAR

ask him questions regarding choice of turbo and boost to use.

his site has vids and dyno sheets and mods etc..

However, keep in mind that you will run out of injectors before you reach the max power these turbo's can provide.

perhaps search this forum for GTR+INJECTORS+RB20 to see a guide on how to use the GTR injectors and resistor on the RB20, then look at buying them too.

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
