Comppresser Surge...

Hey guys i blocked my stock BOV for a couple of days with a metal plate but today i decided to take it off!... But when i took it off... i can still hear the compressor surge... Would anyone know why ?? im confused... all i have now is a PODY on thats it...

check the VAC lines are connected correctly, and that the BOV is correctly put back on

only two things it could be

Yeh pretty much BOV attached. VAC line and plumb back line Attached.

Should all be good.

Hey guys Yep you guys are both exactly right! I just opened my hood before... it was the VACUM plug! it wasnt connected! thanks guys for the help! i also noticed my lost boost. Another question does that surge harm the turbo? or is it basiccally like blocking the BOV.. thank you.

Compressor surge is bad! Kills the life of your turbo very quickly.

some say it kills it in 3.72 seconds... some say no harm....

dont think there's any hard evidence either way.

my gt3540 lasted 3 years of flogging before compressor surge caught up to it and flogged the bearings.

It does slow down the life of the turbo but not by as much as people say it does

So this would mean that 90% of 200sx owners will need to change there turbo's soon.

boost kept at around 12 13 psi it would last heaps longer. i was surging the shit out of mine, it was very loud and high pressures saw it only last between 3 and 4 years.
