Howdy everyone

I had my first day at a skidpan on sunday, up at gympie as apparently the folks out at mt cotton have over-senitive ears, I had a ball and learnt a thing or two about controlling skids.

It can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/3e4be9

I think the vids cool  have a look and let me know what you think. Bear in mind it was my first day at the skidpan and id never tried anything remotely like drifts before this.

Regards

Ian

also thanks to all the guys who came, had a really good day, was good to meet you all.

cheers nuts

Hey man I lost your MSN, can you swing it over?

Was a good day, id love to do it again some time.

If you like the stid pan so much..

Why don't you PM RevHead about the skid days I run for SAU!

The minor technicality that im not a paid SAU member anymore...

I paid it for a year, didnt get anything really for my money and am a uni student these days so I cant throw cash around. Sorry.

didn't see the vid as it's 170MB!

good to see that you're getting some steering under your belt.

I paid it for a year, didnt get anything really for my money

care to elaborate? pm if necessary

are you saying the club offered nothing, or offered nothing to your liking?

from memory 3 skidpan days were run last year.

Well, check out what happens in the Qld events section.. there is always something happening.

and not just skid pans..

I'm running heaps of stuff this year. Most of which is booked out, but you can go on a list.

I had 5 cars pull out.. so 5 cars on the list went in. simple ehh.

I'm doin 2 SAU days.. this year

3 of my own local-ish cars days

1 bundy/marybgh day

and now another day for a begging club...

SAU does heaps of stuff. They travelled from brizvegas to do a skid day with me. and i always see cruises and drags and skid pans and drifts and dyno days and bla bla bla bla.. I'm sure u like to do somethin like that.

From what i have seen of the SAU crew.. they rock! get ya name down on a list or 3!

Yeah? Maybe things have changed since they went to the sauqld site, I never really bothered to sign up there. Not the best spot in the world to talk about this tho, it has a good chance of de-railing the thread.

Gympie is a long way out, I dont know if I can be doing regular trips plus $100 or more, maybe once every now and then however. I wish we had better motorsport facilities in brisbane.

    • Started sifting thru my brakes to decide which ones I will run on Clem   Made me think I should just put them all on Silver...for when brake fade just isn't an option   Should be able to bump rotor up from 343x32 to 348x36 off Supra. Not sure if the Supra annulus is right for the Alcons or APs but trying g to find a used Supra\M4 rotor to test fit The Alcons seem to gain 1-2mm clearance which all helps
    • So car is getting a few mods to the cage and some jacking points welded in Meantime Ol Silver gets a new gearbox and shiny clutch.  Old Box is being set aside for Clem
    • Probably speedometer itself if the odometer is ticking. If the needle is stuck from a bit of grease or something that can cause it to stay at 0. Or a cracked solder joint in the speedometer can do it too.
    • Thanks Fella’s   to take this off topic and to elaborate a bit more. I have an rb25/30 going into a r32 GTST.. expected to make around 600-700hp. Would you?   A) R34 GTT box   B) CD00#?  I’ve seen a few posts about the CD swap and sounds fairly involved with making it fit etc but if it’s worth the work then I’ll go that way
    • Lower at the hubs. Funny I forgot to mention that part. Do this pull here I turned the camera off too soon but the graph shows a drop at the top and that was because the pipe from the turbo blew off. The tuner said we could’ve made possibly another 15 whp. He also added if I switched to ethanol we could up the boost some more as well. I was comfortable capping it at the most of 20 pounds. Turns out the turbo pipe just needed a new worm clamp. Got home replaced that then did a third gear pull from 3k to 7200 rpm and the power was great to the top. I just got an ecu mounting bracket from IEE that I need to try and get everything to fit well. It’s a PITA to get the harness and ecu fit properly behind that kick plate
