hey dude the cops cant touch you even if you hi mount the turbo and up grade to a t88 for example.

because the car came out as a turbo car. it can have any turbo you want on it. as long as you have it all plumbed in right eg(afm or air filter connected, screamer pipe plumbed back in and BOV plumbed back in) i know cause i just went through all that bullsh#$%t and got through no worries.

im runing a hi mount TD06-25G and i had no worries!!

as you can see the turbo looks alot higher than it is in first photo but in the second photo it all blends in.just some of the magic that secretgarage can do!!! give them a call.

if you have any questions on turbo installations call kurt or andrew from secretgarage on 0405982775 and they will be more than helpfull in all aspects! they did my car!

Mate you couldnt be more wrong on Victorian law if you tried.

ANY turbo change is ILLEGAL if found.

^^ yeah thats what i thought too.. i think i even read it that any aftermarket turbo is illegal so what if u get pulled over and they see a high mount you get defected straight away for aftermarket turbo and have to remove it?

Justa32: did a quick search the last thread with a 'ax53b70' was from 2005 lol, that Garrett GT28RS looks pretty good straight bolt on brand new for $1800, that seems like the right price to pay wish i could get a 2nd hand but their not floating around alot with the T3 flange its mostly the T25 flange GT28RS/GT2530.. the HKS GT2530 with T3 flange new is alot like $2200 USD new from HKS so the $1800 AUD brand new with T3 flange which is pretty much the same as the GT2530 seems like the way to go

Heres what ive got so far to hit 220-230rwkw:

Front Mount Intercooler - Done

HKS POD - Done

3" Catback Exhaust - Done

Turbotech Bleed Valve - Done

Stock Airbox - $150

Garrett GT28RS T3 Flange - $1795

X-Force 3" High-Flow Cat - $199

Gktech 3" Dump/Front Pipe - $239

GTR Injectors + Resistors + Cleaned - $600

Installation - $?

Undecided: Power-FC w/HC - $1400 or Dr. Drift/HPF Re-Map $?

Undecided: Tomei Cam Gears In+Ex - $365

Undecided: Electronic Boost Controller (Dont Know Which One To Get Yet) $400ish?

Total - $2983 without Installation or Undecided items

What do you guys think of this setup for 220-230rwkw?

How much is installation gonna end up costing me? (Excl exhaust/airbox/EBC since I can do that myself or get help)

How much would Dr. Drift charge for a re-map/tune?

Thanks

Mate seriously the only way to learn is Pull the shit off, and get your ass into reading mode on the forums. It's how i know so much. Rip the shit out, find out the info you need, then put it all on. Really, it's common sence. But whats commen sence is to me, might not be for you. There is no need to pay some mechanic for a direct bolt on tubo, seriously. hardest thing for you will be changing the oil and water lines, seriously. Just use your head, plug and play computers are piss. When times get tuff, i bought a microtec LT8 for my RB20 cause it was cheap, downloaded a pin out diagram and wired it all up myself. And im far from a sparky. If you are really interested in cars, try do most of the work yourself or you'll just be one of those guys that know half the wrong information cause you listen to dribs and drabs of what your local mechanic said to the bloke beside him. Now go get your hands dirty and learn for yourself my friend! Look into the turbo upgrade thread for results and what people have for mods. 25 turbo, remap, bit more boost, dump/front pipe, cat.. will be great for a fair while.

^^ yeah i know what u mean but to be honest i just dont trust myself enuff to do shit like this.. im not that confident messing around under the bonnet.. i dont even know half the terminology and forums can only teach u so much.. i know theres heaps of info just that i couldnt really wrap my head around it unless someone who knew what they were doing was with me pointing shit out, coz i really wouldnt know what im looking at.. beleive me i wuldnt pay for shit i could do its just that i'd prefer to pay to get it properly done by someone who knows how to do it other then me fiddling around ringing people asking them to come down and show me whats what

Sorry Lance had a busy weekend - will try and help you out if I can

Umm for tune - Apexi PFC $1,400 (if you can find one) + about $500 for 5 hours dyno time to have it tuned

REMAP - Dr. Drift charges about $500 including chip + tune

CEF11E does REMAP'S also which are very good - he charges less than Dr. Drift

I'd probably suggest CEF11E for the tune if your not looking and spending about 2k on ECU + tune

All good abu no hurry man.. hmmm so u think CEF11E instead of Dr. Drift? Yeahh just with the amount for the turbo and how much its gonna cost for installation just gonna be too much if i get a PFC.. Dr. Drive is real time tune yeah? What about CEF11E? Does he do real time incl. dyno runs etc.?

Yeah i sent CEF11E a pm so we'll see how it goes.. how much do you think i'll be paying to get all the new parts installed? Any recommendations of where to go around our area?

Oh and do you think the GTR injectors would be good for around 230rwkw? I was thinking of just spending the extra $100 and getting new SARD 550cc injectors insteada what ya rekon?

Also think the adjustable cams (IN+ex) would make a big difference?

GTR injectors will be more than enough - save the extra $100 and use it for something else

Don't pay any more than $300 for GTR injectors + cleaning + resistor pack

For $300 you should be able to get your hands on some R34 GTR injectors

Not sure who can install it all man - I do all my own work so can't really say who's good and who's not

I could maybe do the injectors and resistor pack - won't do the turbo because its too much work. I will let you know how I go with my injector and resistor pack install - ifs its not too hard I will do yours for a small fee

Hmm its just that most GTR injectors are about $250-300.. cleaning is $150 and resistor pack u told me new $150? So looks like im looking at $600...

Sure you dont want to do turbo and injectors for me for a medium sized fee? =P i know u love skylines man u know u want to do it for fun haha

baha na no more turbo replacements for me at the moment

I only just finished mine last night - still need to do a few little things like hook up my ECV, install injectors and resistor packs but I CBF now

Yeh new resistor pack I can get for you - if you get a reasonably new set of injectors then you won't have to get them cleaned, eg if they were removed off the car last week but just to be safe its probably best while there out

lol damn i thought you installed it last week.. im thinking about getting an ECV too.. dont want to have too loud an exhaust, is that the one where u flick the switch and the exhaust gets quieter by 10dB or so?

yeahh i'd rather just pay to get them cleaned + flow tested + new rings for $150 just to be on the safe side dont wanna go messing around having to take them out again and shit.. but yeah i dont mind you doing the injectors for me... exhaust i can do.. just need to find somewhere/someone to install the turbo for me.. no way im messing around trying to install that lol

lol RE Customs or something should be able to do a turbo install for you - probably starting price would be about $200

Yeah ECV is attached to a cable which you put and it closes a flange in the exhaust which quietens your exhaust right down

Mine is 3" turbo back with just a high flow cat so its pretty damn loud - EVC helps it heaps

damn lol.. yeahh i think i'll definately have to spare the extra cash to get one incase i am driving past a cop or something.. whats happens if u get EPA'd anyway? do they see it on there and tell u to take it off or do they do the test with it on? where did u buy your EVC from and how much? looks like another modification to add to the list lol

    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
