Hey guys,

Im looking at doing some track days soon, mainly circuit stuff. The car is a R34 N/A GT-four

I want the car to handle the best it can for track and street.

So far i have

-Cusco Coilvers 10 rear, 8 front

-Nismo front and rear sway bars

-Cusco Toe arms, caster arms, rear upper arms, strut brace, tension rod (all adjustable)

-Ikeya Formula Traction arms.

-18x10 wheels.

(all suspension arms will be going in this weekend)

What else would you guys recommend?

******************************

What brakes would you guys recommend also? looking to spend around 3k for fronts

The car will be getting a RB26 later this year with some power so i need to be able to stop good.

Thanks Luke

Hi mate l think you should add a hicas lock bar and pineapples.

Me l would get the GTR brake pakage with slotted rotors braided

brake lines should fit your budget just fine if you shop around.

But a mate of mine has a set of big 356mm 8 spot brakes from

just jap which if you go this path they work pretty dam good.

Good luck with it

GTR callipers front and rear with good pads..

Slotted and drilled disks..

Braided brake lines only if their cheap through a GB of sorts or else its not worth it.

or.. for 2K the Just Jap package mentioned above.. you will also want to up grade the rears too.. (GTR's and disks should do)

That way you have a good brake pakage and least $1500 to spend wither on your 26 or loose weight off the car.

btw. If putting in a HICAS lock bar.. its worth going through with the effort and removing the HICAS system all together.. its about 40kg weight saving too..

My car comes standard with no hicas as i found out  got attessa instead.

Ive been offered some R33 GTR brembo's front and rear full set for under $2500. Is it possible to get them slotted?

Thanks Luke

HICAS is the 4 wheel steering system, doesn't your car have a little computer in the back boot behind those covers...?

And then a little bar near the back wheels.

Nope, no bar. Just a Attessa unit at the back right hand side of the car and a container in the boot to fill with attessa fluid.

I can get pics if u like :)

If you go GTR brembo, dont use DBA4000 rotors as they crack under track punishment. DBA5000s seem to be ok. If it were me i'd use G4 kits tho.

You havent mentioned tyres.... if you're really serious you'll get two sets of rims - one with R spec tyres for the track, the other with street tyres for, uh, the street...

If you dont want to run two sets of rims, go for something track friendly like Falken RT-615s or Federal 595RS (not 595 aka 595SS).

The R33 GTR brembo's come with the rotars also. so gonna be using them.

Thinking maybe later down the track i will get another set of rims and use those with some semi slicks.

Cheers for the info.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
