Running Rich

hey guys i own a 1996 r33 gtst s2 with intercooler , boost controller , 3.5 exhaust ,bosch 040 fuel pump etc etc basically my car is running extremely rich heaps of people keep telling me that everytime i accelerate or back off im getting either clouds of black smoke or flames lol ( altho it looks cool ) iv asked the previous owner what 2 do he suggested a tune but in alice springs there are no dyno's or tuners here just crappy mechanics so im gonna have to go d.i.y,the car was tuned 2 adelaide weather then the exhaust was taken off and left in his shed ( due to cop attention and he was planning to sell it stock ). when i bought it he replaced the flat battery and gave me the 3.5 exhaust. The car idles fine and doesnt misfire it has crap throttle response tho , so im thinking possibly the ecu hasnt realised iv put the exhaust back on it therefore making it rich??? so should i try resetting that? or replace the o2 sensor? or buy a fuel pressure regulator??. and p.s taking the ecu away to be retuned is my last resort

have u checked your 02 sensor?
