INTRODUCING GRUDGE CLASS FOR ROUND 3

Not interested in competing? Aren't sure about the rules? Don't want to be eliminated 1st round? Want to kick back and watch the racing after having a few runs? Just want to do a few laps like a Wednesday night Test & Tune?

If so, the Grudge Class at the Mackenzie's Motor Trimming Compak Attak, Round 3 of the Toyo Tires Sport Compact Group Drag Racing Series is for you.

"There seems to be a large number of people that race at Test & Tune events, but don't race at Competition events so we decided to combine them both and have a Grudge Class" comments Ray Box of the Sport Compact Group.

"We'd like to invite the regulator Test & Tune Sport Compact racers to come along and do a few laps at the Mackenzie's Motor Trimming Compak Attak and at the same time see what a Competition meet is all about. We get the Grudge Class out for as many laps as we can with the Competition Class" said Box.

So if you are 1st timer or a regulator Test & Tune racer why not get along on May 18th and support the Toyo Tires Sport Compact Drag Racing Series. All you need is a 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder OHC or rotary powered vehicle along with the normal safety equipment. If you've never been racing before download the Go Drag Racing page for everything you need to know about putting you and your vehicle safely down the ¼ mile.

Follow the link below to enter online. When you get to the Drag Racing Class option select the Grudge Class and away you go. If you have any questions feel free to drop us an email via [email protected] or give the Sport Compact Group Office a call on (07) 3200 1363. We look forward to seeing you at Mackenzie's Motor Trimming Compak Attak, Round 3 of the Toyo Tires Sport Compact Group Drag Racing Series

mmmmmmmmmm, yes the guy has trouble spelling,

but the point is people can have some fun without competing.

Our shop will have four cars going. Five if you get your act together....

What do regulators have to do with anything? WTF?

can anyone confirm that entry list is now full and that no on the day entrys will be taken?

Hi All,

We are only days away from the event. With that we are trying to finalise the race schedule so I need a confirmation from each of you that you'll be racing this Sunday. We have 170 competitors so it's going to be a tight schedule to finish before the track gets to cold down there. If you are not going to make the event please let me know so we can adjust the schedule.

We are planning to give everyone 3 qualifiers but as you know, breakages, oil downs, crashes etc will affect this.

Over the next couple of days we'll have the schedule finalised and you'll be emailed a copy along with it being posted on our website.

Attached is your competitor declaration form which must be filled in before you arrive and brought with you on Sunday but DO NOT sign it.

Pit allocations will be made before the event so if you wish to be pitted with some specific let me know by Wednesday night at the latest.

Best regards,

Ray Box

    • Thanks MBS206, i got that PDF but got abit overhelm with all the connections and tracing of wires. I wasn't expecting to plug the dash harness anywhere. i was just going to use my electronics jumper wires to plug into the right pins like ECU power, ecu ground, ignition trigger etc... I do have a few ratchet straps locking it down tight. Fire extinguisher ready and only a small amount of fuel at a time, enough to submerge the pump.
    • Thanks GTSBoy, i will do abit more digging. I am missing a blue relay near the ECU connector... so i will chase that up in the next few days as well
    • https://yariksteel.ru/manual/R33/Skyline_R33_elektroprovodka.pdf   Page 18 should be what you want for the Dash Cluster wiring. Though, you don't need the dash plugged in to get the motor running. What you want is power as how GTSBoy said. You need to power the ECU. Find in the above link the ECU pin outs (Verify them before just connecting them up from things written on the internet). Find anything needing power, give it power, find anything needing ground, give it ground. Then give the starter motor power through a big cable, and bridge the solenoid on the starter straight to power too.  ECU will be on, and when you give the starter power, it'll spin the starter motor, and it should start. I also hope you have a proper stand, and not just the engine sitting on some wood. You will want it bolted down properly.
