Hi Guys

Since getting my Bayside Blue S2 a year ago, I have been somewhat amazed that there aren't any others in WA. At least not that i know of.

As far as i can estimate there are only 4 in Australia!!

I'd be interested to know how many there really are.....

They certainly don't come up that often in Auctions in Japan either.

It kinda defies logic to think that Nissan offered the colour as an option and hardly anyone took it up.

If you are listing ..... please put up your model type..... I know there is one RS4S on here, which is super rare, and one or two RS's.

I think that there is an RS for sale in SA.

So lets start the head count.

Mine

RS4V 2000 Prime edition.

Cheers

John

One here in South Aus at Sinergy Motorsport, $21,990. Not much of a fan of its interior...

Well it's actually an RS Prime, 2wd wrongly advertised as an RS4. I have now written to the dealer and pointed this out so that some poor unsuspecting buyer, doesn't wonder why it breaks away on the rear so easy!

Oh and the interior.... exactly the same as mine.... a Prime edition. Leather & Wood...... but it OK, 'cos I love it.

Don't know if this is any help but of 1568 Stageas searched, only 8 of them where Bayside... .05%?

Prime Ed FTW!

Hmmm Interesting, what do these figures relate to? Is this the number complied in Aus?

Or are these the total Prime Editions?

I'd be interested to know. Also can you put you hands on the total production figures, and maybe for each type.

That's be great.

BTW where are you located.... not much info in you Avatar.

Thanks

They are ones I could find for sale in Japan atm.

It is not specific to prime editions (sorry about the throw off, I just like them)

I do not have total production figures, but if somebody asked Nissan Japan nicely the might tell you?

Further info on Bayside which I have deduced which kept the numbers down (this may or may not be true open to correction)

No series I came in it

Early series II came in dark blue pearl (BP9)

Bayside (TV2) came in approx June 2000 onward and only was available in RS models

and deleted in the M35 (Oct 2001)

So really there were only about 17 months of them

also, According to Japanese Red book, Pearl white and Black offer the greatest resale value therefore they may prefer to purchase these...

Hope this is helpful

And sure enough the Auction sheet lists it as BP9..... love to see one in the flesh.... unfortunately this one is non-turbo, so wont be heading our way.

And don't forget that physics-defying-opens-both-ways centre console!

There was a R34 fronted one in Melbourne, but given what was done to it, I would suspect it was a respray...

Something else that I noticed on this Blue Pearl one, is a different badge on the rear......

or has someone done some "customising" by splitting the ordinary badge up, 'cos it kinda looks like this one is sporting an Infinity badge too.

I can't get the photo any larger.

    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
    • Wouldn’t touch par if they gave it to me. You need to ask how much power you’re looking to make and then add about 50% to it because that’s what you’ll end up making  The factory box says no more at about 350kw or so, the upgraded synchro boxes won’t handle much over 500kw for long and at that point you’re looking at an auto or dog engagement manual,  once you’ve gone dog engagement you may as well go sequential, they cost a little bit more but it’s worth it  also while you’re at it you should upgrade the transfer case with 10 friction plates
