Hey guys just wondering if anyone has installed one of these or similiar ebay units in their cars. Would be keen on seeing some pics specifically for r32. more importantly want to see if the screen sits flush with the stereo surround. cause my mates brother has one in his commowhore and it sticks out a few centimeters from the socket. which would probably shit me after a while. any input guys.

RUN AWAY VERY QUICKLY!!!!

those last about 3 -4 weeks before they die a very sudden death.

y is that? just shithouse piece of electronics? it doesnt look 2 bad... then again... the price is pretty cheap

put it this way when someone on ebay releases a new all in one box I get swamped wit requests. so I fit one, lasts 3-4 weeks before something in the unit dies. that also includes the one above-and yes I fit this stuff for a living

Hey man. ok first of all i have a r32 , which you was looking for to fit the unit in. second i agree there are Some deck's on eBay that are shit. but at the same time as everything goes do your research and you can find something that is decent and will work. ok i came to this decision. i have a double din dvd/tv/mp3/vcd/usb 7 inch touch screen head unit. if you are interested i will get some photos for you and send them to you so that you can see what it looks like.. More important, if your buying from eBay look for a brand called eonon, and also read the sellers feedback, its 98% or so. i bought the manual open one, instead of the electronic face that is adjustable, this was because some people stated that if you have hard bass constantly it can throw out the mechanism gear causing it to get jammed. However, i bought the manual face but my friend with a 99 WRX bought the electronic face. Both decks are going fine and none of them have still once arrived with a problem yet. i have had mine for about 6 months now and my mate for about 5 months. i installed both the decks myself. and they are straight forward like every other deck. The deck also can have reversing cameras connected to it and more screens. But that’s your preference. Hope this helps and if you would like some photos just pm me and I’ll be glad to help..

Have a good one man

Hey mate, yeh some pics would be great if you can email them to [email protected] that would be great. I have been looking at a few brands for quite a whilte and the eonon seems to be one of the more popular ones. Does your one have the input for usb/sd card on the top when you release the screen? cause thats what makes my mates one stick out on the commowhore so to access the inputs on the top.

I've had 2 of those brand screens in my R32 - they bolt straight in using the standard brackets

I have attached a picture below for you - Just to add they work awesome for the price and picture quality and sound quality is very good

I paid $250 delivered for mine and it plays all formats, only feature it doesn't have is touch screen and I got non touch screen purposely as people leave there little finger prints all over the screen

No worries man - the only thing I don't like about my one is that it sticks out a little but thats becase the face folds down and also beacuse you can attach a USB drive or insert an SD on the to of the screen

You can get flush sitting ones but you will need to pay a little more $ for that

These cheap screens do the job but and still look great

Bit of an update, bought one of these decks for pretty cheap so gonna give it ago. Now i just bought some clarion amps to run my speakers/sub but i just realised that the deck only has one set of rca leads, well its got two but one is input other output. What can i do to run both amps? use a rca splitter? would that decrease quality sound? or should i just go for a nice deck instead?

got one in my r34. sound quality is insanely crappy. get massive pop through the amps when i turns it on. screen goes jumpy every time i eject a cd. if you are expecting crappy quality (and you should for how much they are worth) then they are fine. i got one expecting it to be crappy but its just a temporary solution until i have the $2500 i need to build the carpc setup i want.

hey i got pretty much the same one as this except mine is touch screen..theyre not bad but only prob with mine is that the clip to push it open broke so now when i floor it the screen drops down lol but im used to it now..and it came with the car when i bought it so it doesnt bother me

Thanks for the replys guys. Yeh i wasnt expecting top of the range for the price i got it, but the functionality is what sold me. How did you guys go about running two amps of it? Would love to get a nice brand name one for round 1000, but just spent 1000 on clarion gear. might end up just selling this one and buying a nice headunit with multiple rca outs.

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
