Sorry to hear the car was stolen.

I just got an R33 on Saturday and was headed to Pac Fair today myself today. Have definitely re-thought that as I dont have an immobiliser yet. Be taking my other car now!

Will keep a look out for it.

wow three broken into the night before, you think three unsuccessful attempts would cause them to go for something else.

did it have a full tank of fuel? that always worries me about my car it's almost always full so they can get pretty far away before it will run out of juice.

nah it had just under an 1/8th of a tank so they wouldnt of gotten very far without putting fuel in it, especially with the way they would have been driving it, and we havnt heard of it being in any drive off's

it's a bit suss with the 3 break in's the night before. It's almost like they wanted a 32 for something (parts, re-birthing etc)

hi

sorry to hear the theft/attempted theft epidemic is still out here. my GTR went last Oct, still not recovered.

I have mentioned it on another forum with no results; but I reckon it's time to have a register of stolen Skylines here on the SAU QLD site. somewhere specific where owners of stolen veh can post the details of their car. that way, any of us who are 'suspicious' of a new car in our area, can quickly go to a specific site to check: and then, if necessary contact the owner. I know some are wrecked for parts but according to police many are 'rebirthed' to be driven: even if only a small percentage are identified and returned using information on this proposed forum, it would serve a purpose. the least of which would be to rid the streets [for a while] of some of the lowlife earning a living stealing Skylines.

any comments from Forum officials on this subject?.

regards

IMHO, it's incredibly unlikely that the cars will be in an identifiable condition (resprayed, different plates, different wheels etc) so I doubt that the idea would work. Also, as it stands, people can already search for info by checking for 'stolen' threads just like this one. if a quick search doesn't bring it up, chances are it's been changed enough that it'll be unrecognisable anyway.

Feel free to post the suggestion in the Ideas/Feedback and Bugs section though, the other guys might disagree with me

Sorry guys ill just clear it up a bit, the car has NOT been found, what happened was, A car was taken to a Japaniese wrecker to get some work done, where several parts including, Rims, Exhaust, Gear nob, inter cooler, door cars (had a tear in them) and heaps more were on another car, so this car has been impounded by the police and waiting to hear more.

Thanks very much for all your help guys

Thats fantastic i appreciate your effort!! , but yeah as said we haven't found the car yet but i doubt it would look anything like the picture anymore, if you see a stripped skyline out bush somewhere i would love to know about it.

    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
