zertek
Hey fellaz, I have a R32 GTS (non turbo) skyline that ive dropped an RB25det engine and gear box into. I'm using the RB20de engine mounts and all is sweet except the gear box mounting bracket is an inch and a bit to far back.... I was under the impression it was all supposed to line up? Engine appears to be sitting perfect position in the bay. I then held up the Rb20de gear box mounting bracket next to the RB25det mounting bracket, and they are completely identicle. Also the shifter is sitting nicely in the whole. If worst comes to worst ill just go and get a new bracket made up, but wondering why i have to when everyone elses seems to just fit straight in. Anyone else came across this problem??? cheers, mike Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/213802-rb25det-engine-and-gear-box-into-r32-gts/ Share on other sites
bubba
Should be the same deal as putting an RB25 box in a 32 GTSt.. holes in the chassis are ~50mm too far forward for a 25 box.. bubba
Read the RB25 box into 32 gtst thread. You need to modify the bracket to suit. In short (and I among others did a little write-up of how we did it) I use 2 pieces of flat bar, marked and drilled, bolt it all up and tac welded the flatbar to the bracket, then removed and welded properly. bubba
^^ Erno, I had that issue with my 30 and had to remove the strut brace, but a 25 should fit easily, seen it done. BigC1988
I'm stuck on the engine mounts, mine broke and I live in Curacao,Ntehrlands Antilles and they don't sell skyline parts here. Is the another car f.e. the laurel or cefiro with the same mounts? sly32
aslong as its the same engine then yes, go onto nengun.com they can deliver anywhere, get some nismo mounts, as for topic, its same as r32gts-t, you mounts will only line up if yur car was auto, Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/213802-rb25det-engine-and-gear-box-into-r32-gts/#findComment-4292364 Share on other sites
