Last time ai rx7 series 6 went missing from there it turned up the next day in the same car park but different level.. might be of some assistance to you

Thanks been looking at all the levels at least once a day.

Does anybody know what a guy who stole a car would be doing? I mean would they be driving around or stipping it down? Do they usually take it to someone (wreckers) to be dismantaled in the shortest time?

i used to go to unsw, i always just park it on the streets, and always thought the area was pretty safe compared to usyd...

i remember back a few mths ago there was another r33gtst stolen from i think the unsw biomed carpark?

hope you'll find the car soon mate, will definitely keep an eye out for it, i guess it's not that hard to recognise you car...

mate, i know how u must feel :D

i went thru this 2x myself with my rx7.. 1st time.. yes it was found on a different level with minimal damage

it got done once again not too long ago... i drove it back FIRST time since the 1st incident (1st time in 6months?) and it was done agian. theres no way in the world id ever drive a nice car back to unsw

the thieves there drive up and down the carparks... around the streets looking for nice cars to take

this time.. they even put a crowbar on to my hks vmount intercooler... just smashed up a 2700 dollar IC out of spite.

i hope u do find her..

Could have taken it to a chop shop...

I might have a heads up for you...

R32 gtr white, in a backstreet of burwood..coming down burwood rd turn right one street before the lights that cross parramatta road..

White r32 Gtr with no front bar, 33 gtr rims look like they've been whacked on and a white wing...

Under a car cover...

Plates are ba somthing or rather...Black and white premiums...

Dont know...Could be of some use to you...

Sorry to hear about it bro..

f**k man i go this uni and which carpark was it ????? what time was it stolen?? which gates?

Mech Eng. Carpark. Along Barker Street, near the McDonalds and the BP. Closer to the UNSW rented dorms than not. I think it's Gate 6.

Level 5.

Hey everybody at UNSW that has had their (or a friend i can contact) car stolen. I'm going to admin at uni to ask for a explanation on why the uni security is so poor. We are paying secure car park rates with none of the security. Please PM me with your details..

I can't believe you removed your security system as it conflicted with your Turbo timer.. the mind boggles.

Agreed, i can't believe you did that either... if I were you I would remove the TURBO TIMER, NOT the security system!

Turbo timer is over-rated for street use, all is required is just a little bit sensible driving 1-2 minutes on approaching your final destination

then you do not need a turbo timer at all - I didn't - over 4 years of tuned 230rwkw R33 gtst ownership...

Yes i know, mistakes are made.

I was inefficient at getting the new alarm installed. The skyline wasn't my main focus anymore study was.

dont bother

when my fd was stolen.. i demanded them check the cameras at the exits.. those cameras arent there to check cars but for help points and are ONLY ever activated when some1 presses the button.

then i spoke to head of security at E-Spot and questioned him why the security was so f**ked and even demanded that they install cctv cameras in all the carparks. i was told it is financially unviable as u would need 2-3 cameras on each level and even just the car park behind the libray would need more than 20 cameras. then u need them all to record and have ppl monitor it. the uni is not prepared to spend the money on this. i myself am a unsw staff member (was a studnet there b4 too) and pay for a staff permit.. it is not secure parking that we are getting. its a service that unsw does not take any responsibilities for. i asked to speak to somebody higher up, was told to write a letter to head of Facilities or the Chancellor of the uni and he said that nothing will probably be done anyway even after that...

unsw now is only wanting to give out parking tickets, the security there do not give a flying f**k if ur car gets stolen.. they just want money from parking tickets. i now drive my dad's car to work and one day had to work til 5:30, i purchased a ticket $6 or so to park til 5:11. i rocked up at 5:35 to see the security guy writing out a $79 fine for overparking.

moral of the story.. unsw doesnt care if u get ur car stolen. maybe its the security there who walks up and down checking out where nice cars are and calling in their "mates" to steal the cars. i dont know but hell.. if u drive an import.. and go to unsw... catch a bus and train instead

oh.. and if u still want to do something, u can contact me on 0413 525 818 but im telling u, ive tried doing wat u want to do and i know they dont care

    • You know what, I am enjoying your updates, but I have to say it is pretty poor form to walk into a shop that is paying for space and stock on the floor, try all their seats to work out what you are happy with, then buy somewhere else. If everyone did that the shop will be out of business with no opportunity for anyone to try a seat before buying. 👎
    • Good work, and thanks for posting up your solution for future people!
    • Yeah mate that’s the plan, I just want something I can have fun in and work on during weekends.  There’s really only 1 road fit to drive the car on and luckily is been redone recently.  I do want to tune it next year sometime, no dynos here so I’m looking at an ECU that can be remote tuned.
    • Initially I thought having a pair of Recaro seats would be a big bonus, it turns out these do get a little uncomfortable on long journeys (my fault, not the seat). I had a look through the GSM Performance website at reclining seats and booked an appointment to visit their show room. I got the Recaro Sportster CS for the R34 from here, was very happy with the service received so of course a re-visit was in order. Unfortunately the two Corbeau seats I had chosen aren't on display but they had 4 other options available. Two seats dug into my back, one dug into my legs and the other was perfect. I also found out that Recaro seats use a larger bolt pattern so some adaption was required. Luckily GSM offer some universal adaptors that should solve this problem. I searched the interwebs for price comparisons and Corbeau themselves were the cheapest at £300 cheaper (for the pair). I asked GSM if they could price match, unfortunately they couldn't. I later received an email saying Corbeau would honour them the same discount, but the purchase was already made. I did however order the brackets from GSM, both arrived on the same day. I started with the passenger side seat, knowing this was going to be a little trial and error. There are 3 mounting holes at the front and 2 at the rear on these JURAN Racing seat rails.  With the adaptor brackets mounted, the allen cap bolts started to push into the seat, NOT GOOD!  The rear mounting holes lined up but there were issues at the front. The holes were 1/2 hole out, so the brackets got a tickle with the drill to modify the holes. The supplied bolts weren't going to be long enough and a spacer was needed to stop the adaptor bars from bending. A local fasteners company supplied be with some nylon spacers and longer bolts (M8x30, although these will be replaced with 35mm long shortly) A before and after I pre-drilled the front bracket before making a start on the driver's seat to save some time. And in no time at all that was in the car too. The all black seats have transformed the interior and these are MUCH more comfortable. The only downside with the new Corbeau seats is I sit a little higher, but I'll happily accept that over discomfort. The Youtube video can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPyttKPktXA
