which rb25? series 1 or 2 or neo?

won't work with series 2 or neo for sure

i vaguely remember that it'll work with r33 series 1 rb25.. not 100% sure, someone else might be able to shed some light on that

have you tried cleaning your afm and the plug connecters?

afms rarely break so you might wanna give that a go first, usually it's the oil from wet pod filters that go on the afm, or dirty afm causing car to not run properly

should be fine if you give it a clean

yeah im going to clean the afm tommoro when i change the plugs, will prob be dirty cos the old pod was very oily!

ill give it a shot,

also, would a dirty afm or dirty plugs cause the turbo not to hit its normal boost level? usually runs 12.5, but since this prob started, it barely hits 7 pound

what kind of problems are you having at the moment? misfiring?

anything that causes your engine to not run smoothly will effect your turbo from spooling properly..

might still reach full boost however, just won't get there the way it should

if there's problems with your afm your car's most likely to stall, or won't idle properly

rb20, rb25 s1 and rb25 s2 are the same phyiscal AFM

the difference is colour label and rb25 S2 has 1 less wire (shared ground).

to use rb20 or rb25 S1 in S2 you need to duplicate up the ground signal.

the rest is the same.

rb20 - 4 wire - ground, power, signal ground, signal

rb25 S1 - 4 wire - ground, power, signal ground, signal

rb25 S2 - 3 wire - ground, power, signal

check my site for pinouts etc

check howto section for a thread cubes did on wiring and changing them

rb20 - 4 wire - ground, power, signal ground, signal

rb25 S1 - 4 wire - ground, power, signal ground, signal

rb25 S2 - 3 wire - ground, power, signal

Thanks Paul for confirming, so ya the rb20 afm is plug and play on the rb25 s1..

ur car's s1 by the looks of it, so try on the rb20 afm and see how you go

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
