it was a wicked time out.

Thanks kelly for organising such a great event.

Good to meet a few more SAU'ers

Was a bit sore the next specially when i went to pick up the wheels from Adrian

Team SLAM (me and my co driver of the night)....managed to break a kart

even the guys at kartmania didnt know what went wrong.

but we were displaying a Mark Webber sort of drive...

5% to finish we stuffed our kart up lol

Me and my mate came second on the night.

Great night, but i think some people were driving like they were out to hurt people.

It wasn't a Mark Webber drive, you actually finished the race! lol

i dont think any one went there with that attitude mate.

umm not in the kart that we started young one.....lol

We started in kart number 17 and ended the race in some other kart.

and i dont think any of us went out there with that attitude shaun.

certainly i didnt...i was just out there to have fun.

now u will get a bit of crashing and bashing in any form of motor race, even in F1

its just part and parcel of the whole thing

Some pics of the night - some in the foyer at Kart Mania, and some in the carpark/in Maccas Enfield afterward

I was one of the team of 4 that rocked up well late. So at least one of us owns a skyline and on this forum (I just spend most of my time in the classic line's section), we weren't just complete randoms :) well we were but ya get that.

But yeah we started last got up to 5th snapped a tie rod whoops back to last again, ended up finishing 5th so I reckon we did alright. There is no way I could race and open wheeler, I'm way to rough for that.

If they drove like they did on the night on a race track they would have no car to take home.

Just because you have guards around the car doesn't mean you have the right to use people as a brake and shove them out the way.

Some of the incident that i saw and were involved in were plain stupidity.

But i did have a great night and a few people let themselves down by being overly aggressive.

thats pretty soft mate, we all went out there, to have a good time, and go for gold.

rubbin is racing mate, i got hit a few times, but is my fault, i was to slow on the racing line, you get that.

maybe think twice bout comin next time if it hurt your feelings to be rubbed a little.

Adrian and I were giving it in equal amounts. Anyone would think we were overdoing it ... hey, we probably were, but we both had fun doing it, even if it was him going into the wall in the end. I was half expecting to be put into the wall eventually myself. If both parties are there for the rough play, then they're only hurting themselves. Not some innocent driver. The staff let us be, so we couldn't have been that bad :)

End result was: we had fun! :( I didn't care so much were I was on the grid, but what I did while I was there. I had some fun rubbing it up to 3 other karts all night.

You're only as fast at the guy behind you clipping your heals. :(

We need another kart night again. Thats the most fun I've had in a while. Get some real competitors in for some paint swapping. :) Softies need not apply.

here here ^^^ +1 with ya ruby

i was involved in a bit of bumper to bumper action with a lot of ppl

specially adriano haha...he went into the wall and some one hit me at the same time....

i remember scandyflick complaining about kidney damage after wards lol

+10 for another kart night

it was soo soo much fun

hats off to kelly for organising such an eventfull night

more then willing to spend $50 and go gokarting then chuck in $50 worth of petty in the line and only worrying about getting defected

Don't ever go to a hire kart track with a group of sprint karters then. Last time I did that I woke up sore the next morning thats for sure. I don't think I have ever seen so much carnage before.

then dont complain.

:)

I agree we should do it again! There are other formats of racing, if we want to look at a smaller group ... a smaller group of elite carnage drivers ;)

answer to that one would be me and you ruby

me and u gave young adriano some good smacking lol

count me in for the next time

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
    • I NEVER think about using a scissor jack unless there is absolutely no other alternative. f**king things are dangerous, annoying and stupid.
