Hey,

Has anyone ever had troubles with their fuel hose swelling up and braking apart.. I talked to my mech and he reckons he only ever uses factory fuel hose cause all aftermarket stuff swells up within hours... and he is right, i tried some fuel hose from a hydraulics shop that said it can be submerged in fuel no problems.. and it swelled up and broke apart within 2 hours...

I am wondering about the blue speedflow hose... might be some better quality, but none of that cheap black stuff works either.. its only made to hold fuel on the inside... What can i do??

( this is in relation to inside the tank )

cheers

Get the nissan stuff - UAS has it.

About $70/metre though. I used about 0.5 metre I think..

Otherwise I think Nissan has it in 1m lengths. It has blue writing on it and feels different to other hose. Feels more flexible. I dont think it has uv rating but like you say can handle fuel on the outside.

Mackay sell some but I dont think it is EFi rated.

It has been talked about a bit on SAU, do look around.

People do try and use the factory allotted amount, as its of butyl inner / outer construction. Unlike the "inner" only of normal fuel hose.

I almost ordered a few meters of it from Nissan with some mates, but worked around it.

That’s pretty trick, UAS having it on hand.

Someone on here used some of that "fuel resistant, clear with single ply construction" stuff you see at hydraulic hose places as insulation between an 044 and cradle. Iv also seen it used for the pickup... not for the high pressure OUT though.

As for food for thought, some ppl have talked of stripping the metal braid off of Teflon hose (Speedflow, Earls etc) and hose clamping it on.

May I ask where it leaked from ?

    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
