jazza08
anyone who said an n/a skyline beats any turbo Silvia is a jokeee. n/a vs n/a should be fairly close most of the way if both engines are in good nick wit similar mods... much like the turbo versions (sr20 vs rb20/25) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21863-na-r33-vs-na-silvia/page/4/#findComment-1079642 Share on other sites
paully_tee
i agree. na vs na should be a good battle. but adddin forced fed induction is a whole different ballpark. my mate imported a na 200sx from japen. i'd LUV to drag him but he wont go me. hes just got a new engine but....maybe he'll go now. btw hes got a $3000 boot setup so im thinkin its over alreadi. scottman
Yea Ca18det ain't that power Full only like 135kw or something i can see a Rb25de Beating one not not a Sr20det or a Rb20de Some tell me how u think a Rb20de go vs a Sr20de A race i can Maybe Win Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21863-na-r33-vs-na-silvia/page/4/#findComment-1082414 Share on other sites
jazza08
ur not very bright are u... Did u think about the torque band a turbo gives u?? Also ca18dets dyno at around 5-10kw less at wheels.. so they aint that much slower if the engine is still in good nick. Aint NO WAY a rb25de will beat a ca18det, its turbo against n/a dude seriously wake up.. Greg
Just because its turbo doesn't magically mean that it is a faster car. The RB25DE has 700cc more displacement, 20kw more power, 5nm more torque, and the sky doesn't weigh THAT much more than the sil. Therefore it has the potential to beat the CA18DET silvia. The linear power delivery from the RB25DE also gives it an advantage. remind me who wasn't very bright and needs to wake up? Stock for stock I'd place a bet that they're fairly even. ps. i thought about the torque band a turbo would give you as you suggested, and then decided that it was crap. jazza08
Thats why a rb25de runs 16s n a ca18det Sil runs 15 flat Its about power delivery my friend, the DET will bring on torque at 3,500rpm ALOT more than an n/a wud have at the same rpm figure.. ie makes it easier to get to its max power quicker. A Skyline weight is around 200kgs more than an s13.. thats alot dude. Stock for stock its not much of a match. 0-100 times and 1/4 times prove that. Doesnt really matter if u agree or not.. go race a ca18det and find out. I understand u have a GTS therefore are abit bias which is fine too dude Just dont expect to much out of an n/a r33. Theres a reason they run 16s.. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21863-na-r33-vs-na-silvia/page/4/#findComment-1083083 Share on other sites
Greg
fair enough, you have a pretty solid argument. i'm going to race a ca18det silvia and report back and yes i am biased so i will defend my motor: as i said, it has linear delivery, power doesn't suddenly kick in at certain revs. theoretically this should allow a better launch. anyway they're both great cars and i know which i'd prefer for a drift car (sil obviously) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/21863-na-r33-vs-na-silvia/page/4/#findComment-1083124 Share on other sites

Pva_Glue
well, I didnt buy R33 GTS-4 for Drags. I looked all the NA cars and skylines had most option and value for money..... beside I like all the imports. No point arguing for nothing. they are all slow compare to Turbs but no way they get same milage on the fuel. so lets just calm down girls. my two cents. jazza08
thats pretty obvious.. put a Skyline next to an s13.. not much comparison looks wise i dont think!!! Stock for stock.. modified for modified a nice Skyline will always outdo a s13 in my opinion (180sx can look VERY VERY hot though..) but still not the interior comfort and options u get with a Skyline. pentae
I had an s13 sr20det that was black, lowered on stock wheels, dewinged + debadged. Everyone thought it looked and went way better than any r33 boat. Its personal opinion. Some silvias might look better than your boat, your boat might look better than most silvias.. because lets face it.. they cost less to buy so their owners cant usually afford to make them look good.
