Well I've been talking about it for a while but no more half-arsed selling, car has to go before i change my mind. I can't look at it in the mornings without regretting the decision...

Currently registered? Yes (will sell with an extra 3 months of rego on top if sold before July 2008)

Contact: Please contact me on these forums if you are interested and i can send you my Mobile number

I am the first Australian owner of this car after buying this from a Private Importer in Melbourne (story is detailed on the forums, compressed version: bought over eBay(no different to an add on allclassifieds/ carsales etc) from a private importer, went to Melbourne to inspect, loved it and drove it home). I bought the car in September of 2006 as a Stock Standard R33 GTST with 76,000km on the clock. Thats only 22,000kms driven in the near 2 years of ownership with the majority being highway kilometers. During my ownership the car has had no problems, bar the few common minor problems involving sensors passing their used by date, all of which have been replaced before January of this year and nothing has resurfaced since. The only reason i am selling this car is that I cannot, as hard as i might try, justify owning 2 cars at this point in my life. It is nothing to do with petrol as the skyline is surprisingly more fuel efficient then the celica, it is the registration and general upkeep of two cars with the added temptation of wanting to modify the skyline that is too much for my wallet to handle.

Modification wise the car is predominantly still in stock condition (still running stock boost), the only change has been a larger turbo back exhaust system fitted (3" HKS Silent Hi-Power with BATMBL split dump/front and high flow cat). It is not overly loud (exhaust is designed to be quieter then most 3" systems, id place it a bit above the Trust PEII but well below the other HKS systems) though it would most likely not pass the RTA dB limits so the buyer of this car will also receive the stock R33 GTST exhaust system (unfitted).

Under my ownership the car has been serviced every 5,000km with Mobil1 10W30, new oil filter and new air filter. While every 10,000km sees the car on the hoist to receive a more in depth check over. The car has also recently (4/5/08, less than 100km travelled since) had a major service completed including:

-New Excedy Clutch (and spigot/thrust bearing)

-100,000km Service - including timing belt, water pump, idle tensioner, cam seals etc.

-All brake rotors machined

-New rear brake pads

-Coolant flush

-New brake and clutch fluid

-Oil, oil filter, air filter replaced

-Throttle body cleaned

Car will also be sold with 4 brand new Federal tyres. I will honestly be surprised if this car does not pass RWC first attempt, I have been spending far too much time and money on bringing this car up to a much higher standard just so that the sale will be easier but the more i spend the more i try justify keeping it. This genuinely is a reluctant sale...

The Cosmetic modifications on the car are also very minor and include:

-R34GTT Rims

-Greddy A-Pillar pod mount with HKS boost gauge (readings in Bar)

-Painted center console (white) (pictures below)

-Nismo Leather Gear knob

-Nismo Clear Indicators

-Door trims (not the best quality but the previous Japanese owner was either a smoker or a clumsy pyromaniac and there were small burns on the fabric areas, I was planning on getting new door trims but decided to re-trim for a bit of practice before eventually replacing them) (pictures below)

-Gear and Handbrake boots (leather surrounds) re-made in Italy (fancy pants name dropping :))with genuine leather in white and black (pictures below)

-Main dash gauges replaced with 300km/h and in white (AMEC supplied kit) and dash lights replaced with blue LEDs

-Genuine GTR (Vspec I, more fancy pants name dropping) bootlid and spoiler already painted in QM1 (i spent A LOT of time searching for this, probably my biggest regret in selling the car) Plastic OEM item, not fibreglass and has working brake light

-Light up Rear 'SKYLINE' Garnish

-Apexi pen-style turbo timer

Car also comes with professionally installed C.A.M alarm system with immobiliser, window smash sensors, inbuilt and dedicated alarm battery, black wiring (no distinguishable wiring) and adjustable sensitivity

(note, the small reader on the steering column in the pictures is not a boost controller, it is a digital rev/speedometer, the car has never been run on boost above the factory 7psi)

(first skyline event back in Dec 2006, disregard the p-plates. As a few people may know I had a crash in my previous car and learnt all the valuable driving lessons in that car (unfairly enough i found i was not invincible) . To be honest it was by far the best experience for me to go through, 2 years on and incident free)

So thats my car up for sale...hopefully i don't chicken out of selling it... If you have any friends or family who are looking for a well looked after and recently serviced to unnecessarily high standards then PM me over the forums and i can send you my Mobile number to organise an inspection.

To sum it all up in one sentence: My 1996 SII R33 in near factory stock condition, with recent 100,000km major service, new Excedy clutch and 4 brand new federal tyres is selling for $15,000

Also, I am aware that the price is a bit above the current trend of $11,000 R33s but as a general rule of thumb, you get what you pay for.

Thanks

Alex

yep, main dash surround, gear and ash tray surround and the arm rest with power window controls on it. Was pretty impressed with the results actually. Went to bunnings and bought white primer, white spray and clear coat. Sanded it back with low grade sand paper then higher grade to smooth it out, 3 or 4 layers of primer half hour apart, 4 or 5 layers of white half hour apart, 3 layers of clear coat for protection and left to dry for a day. $50 max in materials and sprayed in between another job.

If you take your time it turns out really well, theres a thread on the forums with pics of other people who have done it in different colours.

Tyres now fitted on the car. Very pretty :bunny:

Test drives welcome by appointment (send me a pm and ill send you my mobile). Sunday will be the earliest and last opportunity until June 1st

  • 3 weeks later...

!!SOLD!! To a new guy to Canberra who will hopefully (so i can keep tabs on the car haha) join up to the website.

Never really understood when people talked about their car being driven away after being sold but i stood their in the rain watching the lights disappear over the hill and instantly regretted it... And still do now, and probably will tomorrow... At the same time, having money fills the void quite nicely.

I'll keep hanging around the website (unlike the other traitors haha) and continue waving, so if you get waved at from a blue fastback celica, don't look down your nose at me, wave back you snobs :P

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
    • Bloody apprentices! 🙄
    • Not sure yet.  Was considering speedtek because it was rated to 800hp, but when I did some research about him I don't think I will go for that🤣 So maybe giken gear set, but I'm afraid it won't be strong enough🙄
