If you take the car to the circuit, I think it would be wise to upgrade the 5th as well. I use my OS 5th gear a fair bit on the track. It's not that bad on the highway.

Don't waste a well made gear.

When I get home I'll try out the 3600rpm deal and see how she feels.

Brockaz is selling his box with the OS set, he should know... assuming 32 & 33 GTR boxes are the same.

Actually I'm wondering the same thing (as I haven't had a chance to research, frantically getting the car ready for Dutton).

My OS Set has teeth missing on 2nd gear, and the input shaft (2nd gear). Every other gear is perfect.

2nd gear = ~$800?

Input shaft = $600 off greenline

Considering this box already has all of the OS parts in it, it's obviously got all the series 3 gear in it as well.

This being said, will I still need the additional $1300 worth of Nissan parts to rebuild my box? I'll be throwing a new set of synchro's in there while it's out as well.

If it's simply $1400 for parts + $700 for labour, I'll be getting it rebuild asap.

I haven't got the translation of the parts list yet Brockaz. My assumption is that the list is a standard rebuild kit and only changes depending on what year/evolution of the g'box you have. So if some of your gear is OK some of the extra expense wont be needed.

Ok, so I managed to get into my friendly neighbourhood Nissan dealer for some numbers...

Pt# Description Quantity

32604 - 30P60 Ring Baulk 1

32604 - 30P61 Ring Baulk 1

32604 - 40P61 Ring Baulk 1

32606 - 30P10 Sleeve-CPRG, 5th 1

32611 - AA510 Sleeve-CPRG, 5th 1

32605 - 310P11 Hub Synchro 1

32811 - 05U10 Fork shift 1

32609 - 70L15 Insert shifting 3

32603 – 30P00 Spring shifting 2

All up this list is around $720 trade. There will be other parts including seals etc so i'll update as the rebuild continues.

A Little off topic.

Would anyone know the specific part number for a 1998 GTR box?

I have the number : 32010-12U60. I have googled it but it has returned all sorts of different years.

Is there a such thing as a different number for a 1998 box?

There were 3 boxes...

The early 32 Push type clutch

then the Pull type for the 32

and the Pull type 33.

In short, I don't believe so; it's mostly 33 parts now. Sorry nothing as definitive as youd like I guess

Guys. Could anyone tell me which Nissan dealer they went through the get replacement parts when rebuilding this box. I have spoken to 2 dealers and im not getting anywhere. One dealership told me there is 2 different revisions of the late model 33 boxes.

The parts im after (well having trouble getting) are 1st and 4th synchro's.

    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
