True.

Half the reason fuel goes up is because stupid idiots run around claiming "fuel will be $X.XX by such-such time". Then the fuel companies work together and jack it up, because we're "expecting" it to.

:)

Okay, I'm going to try and work it the other way. "Fuel will be $1.25 by the end of the year"

:D

pfffft, cmon Ruby you can do better than that

this subject doesnt need any more coverage. thats half the problem, and i for one am f**king sick of hearing about it.

Same. It's all i hear at work. "When is the price going down?". "Why is the price so high?"

If you don't like the cost of petrol, don't drive a f**king car. You can't afford petrol but you need it to get to work, don't spend your money on shit like smokes and alcohol.

Wow, look, logic on the topic of petrol prices, who would of thought? You think it's good for petrol stations having the prices so high? We barely make enough of petrol to pay for the electricity to run the pumps.

Fill up on mondays and tuesdays.

Don't boost it everywhere.

Cut out on buying shit you do not need to buy.

Harden the f**k up.

yeah good point rueben....most instances involve speculatoin that Oil prices will increase....but they HAVE been hitting record highs lately.

jarred i like it!! i tell so many people off who complain about rising interest rates. it doesnt have to do with fuel. but when people start complaining about being unable to afford mortgage repayments whilst having a BRAND NEW $1500 mobile in their hand, it just pissesme off. is it necessary to have the latest phone? do they need to hit the club every friday, saturday?

And thats the reason why interest rates increase. People are clueless these days. I don't spend a dime unless I really need too. I feel bad spending lots of money on shit. I've worked my ass off for it then I just piss it down the drain.

yeah damn...

well when you look at our economic history....we havnt been asked to cut down on spending for about 16-17 years lol....today's generation (and i speak of myself aswell) don't know how to save lol. just my 2cents.

good old howard and costello.

ahhh yes petrol prices..

because of it we're thinking of selling the 33gtst because my na 34 is more fuel efficient.. .. partner is spewing.. but he wants a manual car anyway.. the Rudd government needs to start regulating it or they won't be leading the country for too long..

my partner thinks it's his o2 sensor... I think it's because it's turbo and the way he drives it... does tuning the car make any dif?? because I hear some gtr's getting 550km a tank..

you not being able to save has nothing to do with previous governments, thats half our troubles too passing the buck

ive got my daily/runabout that runs on lpg, so i use that during the week & i drive the skyline on weekends. petrol prices dont bother me much, cos i enjoy driving the car.

if i couldnt afford to put petrol in my skyline, i would sell it.

hey anna....

ive read around that turbo's run better km's per tank than N/a's? but i donno..

i changed my afm and i started getting 30-40 extra km's per tank...

im pretty sure a good tune will help also.

good point steve, i dont know why i said that...lol

stole from nissansilvia...

For years we have been hampered locally by the lack of high performance fuels compared to the Japanese....and now all thats changed with the local introduction of E85 Bioethanol fuel. This stuff is made from 85% Ethanol, 15% Petrol, and testing on the Willall dyno has shown that it performs in a very similar fashion to the Sunoco and VP race fuels that a lot of the drifters use. Its incredible gear for $1.29 a litre!

Although E85 pump locations are limited currently (SA has several in the metro area through ENFFUE/SAFF sites) there are some massive advantages to running this fuel...they are -

E85 BENEFITS

- 105 Octane Pump Rating (testing shows more like 110 RON behaviour)

- Reduces tailpipe emissions significantly

- Significantly cheaper than conventional unleaded fuels

CONSIDERATIONS

- Specific tuning needs to be carried out to use E85, its not plug and play

- You will use more of the fuel, as its 'lighter'

- Thats about it

Where the massive importance for the performance industry comes into play is in the incredible detonation resistance that this fuel displays. We will post some test results of a bolt on turbo equipped SR20DET over the next couple of days to show you just how good this stuff really is, and come up with some tuning solutions to allow you guys to take advantage of this stuff. As Donnon pointed out to me earlier (he has been doing all the research and tuning on E85 for big horsepower applications and runs it in his daily) "This fuel is almost too good to be true!"

you guys have got it cheap. up here the normal unleaded has reached around 1.80 and deisel and stuff is through the roof, we will hit the $2.00 mark within 3 months. thank god i have a mobil fuel cra, that means i get fuel prices the same as i beleive brisbane or melboune, anyway its cheaper. im going to get a road bike soon. ruby can you suggest me one??.

cheers... michael

then u make sure ur never on e

sounds much easier then it actually is. and if the fuel is going to be lighter, and your going to use more, that means when u take long trips you have to plan out which petrol stations you can stop at. i dunno, if its cheaper, but burns faster, arent you spending the same if not more money?

what really pisses me off is petrol prices effect everything, courier prices, freight etc....everything is transported using fossil fuels. I really feel sorry for the poor truckies who have 1500litre tanks on board and its gonna cost them 3k every time they fill up....Just seems everything is going up except for pays. Not having a whine just stating what i believe.

Im not particularly worried, as sambo33 said, i have my daily during the week which cost 60 bux to fill up, goes for a week for about 600+ km and i use the skyline on the weekend. I enjoy driving it so i fork out to put petrol in it. If i can't afford to put petrol in it then i wont drive it.

i came accross this website a little different to what that guy did

http://www.savegasusewater.com/

i like in the news report some guys like 'you wont necessarily be getting much fuel economy, cause you have to carry all the water.. the waters adding extra weight'

does this retard realise how much 20l of water actually weights its only roughly 20kg and maybe another 50kg for ALL the equipment to make the car run on water

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
