jimnastic
Hey guys, Just after some sizes and prices for tyres to fit 18x9.5 wheels. I can't seem to find an average price; the lowest I've seen is $200 and the highest is $850 so I'd like to get a more definite price from someone who knows what they're talking about lol I'd like something that matches the diameter of 235/45ZR17 since that's what I already have on my car. I did a bit of research and I think I'd be looking 265/35 or something similar, but I wouldn't really know.. Anyway, if they're too expensive, I'll just get the wheels I want in 17x9, but I can't really justify paying $2000 for 17s when I know 18s would look so much better Edit: I'm looking at getting Gram Lights or Drifteks. Gram Lights in silver or Drifteks in gold. Thoughts? N1GTR
Ive had 235's on 18x9.5's Anything from 235 to 285 should fit, 255's or 265's would be the best bet - and they arent priced that badly either if you look around Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/223690-18x95-tyres/#findComment-3941052 Share on other sites
scathing
255-275 widths are what most tyre manufacturers recommend as a range for 9.5" wide wheels. You can go outside that, if you don't mind stretching or ballooning. They're 265x35x18 and im pretty suprised at that price because i've been quoted $320+ Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/223690-18x95-tyres/#findComment-3953500 Share on other sites

HuH
If you're in Sydney, go to Tempe Tyres and get some Kumho KU31s. I got mine from there and I'd recommend the tyres and the dealer. They're pretty no nonsense and not all staff there are super friendly but they're good at what they do. I got 255/35/18 on my 18x9.5s on the back for $190 each including fitting and balancing. Then 225/40/18 for the 18x8.5 on the front for $150 fitted. Good prices. DECIM8
If your a tight ass a 215 will fit on a 265 (9.5" rim) I use 235s as they are most common and cheaper. But 265 look better and you could prob run a 285 no issues on the 9.5" wide rim. Taleb Tyres
if your looking to match up the 235/45/17, 265/35/18 is perfect rolling diameter, if you want something a bit cheaper you can go 255/35/18 which is ok, just stay away from gutters! I have some specials on these sizes you might be interestd in, check out my thread taleb tyre thread Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/223690-18x95-tyres/#findComment-3959817 Share on other sites
~R33AzzA~
I have 235/45/18 on my 9.5's and they fit just nice not too streached. Heres a pic. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/223690-18x95-tyres/#findComment-3960120 Share on other sites
jimnastic
Thanks to everyone for all the helpful info I guess I'll probably go for 265/35/18 since they're the perfect diameter to replace my wheels R33AzzA, Are those wheels on a GTS or a GTR? If its a GTS, what offset are they? And did you have to make any modifications to the car to make them fit? ~Hypnotik~
You're thinking of getting Gram Lights or Dickteks? A decent quality Japanese wheel compared to cheap Chinese shit that every wog and his dog has? Get the Gram Lights, look way better but get them in 18", in that chart you linked in your first post the 17's come in no decent offsets... The main reason I'm looking at the Drifteks is because I can get 18x9.5 +35 with a 4 stud pattern. The biggest I can get with the Grams is 18x8 +40, which will probably look like crap, so if I get the Grams, I'll probably get them in 17x9 +35 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/223690-18x95-tyres/#findComment-3978516 Share on other sites
