yeah, no way is that road legal. the belt will be coming around the headrestraints and end up in front of your face, which means you need to use a 4 point harness which is illegal on the road.

we are really talking track seats here though, so road legality is not an issue. personally I have a race seat set up on it's monuts and harness and just swap it out with the road seat as needed. takes about 10 mins.

Even if it's legal, a harness on the street would be an absolute pain in the arse, it really stops you doing a lot of things... forget about reaching into the glovebox or the back seat!

That's a nice looking seat though

What is a half decent fixed back "big bloke" seat for a dedicated circuit car just for private trackdays? It's easy to find decent cheap (about $750) seats for regular jap sized blokes but none that will fit a real aussie bloke grr

Velo Podium are real comfortable and priced in that range, but are pretty heavily bolstered. The Velo GP90 is a great all rounder as it has slightly less leg support so makes access/egress a little easier. I used to have a Velo Esprit, really liked it, was a great seat and actually lighter then my kevlar Momo, though not as rigid. Shame they stopped the Esprit range

yep, velo GP90 would be perfect for what you want ben. very good quality seat, and made in aus. plus they have different sizes and can accommodate the 'ample gentleman'. they are in your price range too from memory. :P

Racer Industries are not exactly cheap either. Try Speedzone. Speedzone in Ballarat are typically cheaper again then some other Speedzone outlets. Hell for you Old Son i will get my housemate to pick it up as he is always in Ballarat, and i get it to you however, whenever in our coastal travels

Yeah, they're not cheap! Their seats are nice. I sat in one the other day and it was a very similar fit to my seat.

I've been buying OMP gear from Europe.

Just bought a couple of harnesses and some racing booties.

I haven't gone out to physically look/sit in seats just getting an idea of what brands/models to look at. I need to get a seat+harness for when I take my car in to get caged up so he can fit it all at once but i've spent $2k on tools and $1k on engine bits in the last 3wks so that could be a month or 2 away yet lol

I'd be happy to sacrifice difficulty in getting in/out of car (with side intrusion cage bars) caused by higher sides on the seat if it meant it would hold me in position tighter.

yeah forget revolution mate. they are about as pricey as it gets. race and rally speedzone in greenacre are the way to go. nice guys there and better prices.

i'm not sure if they do velo seats or not these days. otherwise peninsula sports cars at brookvale carry heaps of gear and those guys will always cut a good deal.

my pick for you with your budget would be the GP-90 and a willans 3 inch 4 point or 6 point harness. you can get the 4 point then add the nut strap later if you so desire.

The OMP WRC could be ok too, a bit more exxy though at around $1000 and don't forget you will need side mounts, sliders and base frame too to mount it all.

and don't forget you will need side mounts, sliders and base frame too to mount it all.

I was planning on getting my mechanic to custom make welded side mounts so that it will sit practically on the floor because I will need all the headroom I can get with a cage + helmet in there.

good plan big fella. you will need all the room you can muster. piss off the headlining too. it's nice to remove weight so high in the cabin, helps with centre of gravity, and will give some headroom too. just make sure you are comfy when the seat is fitted! and add some extra holes in the sidemounts BEFORE you fit them so you can adjust the position a little if needed.

    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
    • I started removing the tank a while back with the intent to give it a proper clean. Got to a bolt that I couldn't undo completely due to a diff being in the way, so just said f**k it and siphoned the gluggy old fuel out and called it a day. Looking it the tank it looks less corroded than the one in the pics for that billet hanger from Frenchy's anyway. Isn't it the fuel filters job to worry about this stuff? I scraped off most the crusty shit of the hanger but will give it another go before reinstall coz maybe the fuel and return pipes are also full of gunk
    • Pretty sure it is a common fault. I believe this is the only part you need, but don't quote me as I don't have a V36.  I also believe it is a bit of a pain to change and the device needs to be encoded to the car once it is replaced, so may need someone with the right tools. • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
