How Is The Nt ? In Particular Darwin

Hi guy's,

Just wondering what is like in the NT. I have the possibility to move up for work but have never been to the NT in my life.

How is the cost of living ie Food, Fuel etc. What are the vehicle service, dyno shops etc like as looking at bringing our skylines if we move.

Looking for feedback from those that have lived elsewhere and moved up as its a huge move for us.

i think most darwin guys use boostcruisin....

personally I can't handle the humidity there but being from the coast you would be more used to it.

Don't really have the answers you want but I'd say would be much the same for you just on a smaller scale.

They have drift days at Hidden valley and there would have to be a few dyno shops.

Cost of living similar to the rest of the country, same things cost ore, some are cheaper!

Fuel is expensive! In Alice is currently about $1.97/L for BP Ultimate. Darwin is cheaper!

bit of a late reply have not ben on here in a while.

Darwin is great in my eyes. The people are normally pretty easy to get along with the lifestyle is very laid back. Traffic is great dyno shops. Well the best is High Tech Tuning he is very good to work with. There is heaps of track days and drift and drags. Alot of motorsport events and cruises also.

Food is cheap as hell if you shop at the markets and a butcher. Wollies and coles are terrible. Fuel is a muchness You need to buy it so dont whinge. Other than that i would say it is great.

i just move darwin 3months ago...and i like it but yea the weather is hot..the people is easy going2

I will be moving to Darwin soon also. Start work on the 22nd.

Car will be coming but don't know how long the container will take to get there.

The weather is getting hot now though. Just came back from a holiday to brizzy for the jambo and the heat is really getting to me now. But i do now own a r32 so this makes me a little happy in the pants LOL

i am thinkin about moving up there for work for 3 months, is it possible to drive a lowered skyline from sydney to darwin?

how long would it take? is it true most the roads at dirt?

Yes, its possible, though how low are we talking? If its really low you will have trouble with a few dips in the road, but most will be fine.

How ever I would recommend putting it on a truck. Its a long drive, what, 4-4500k's?? so 3 days depending on stops and speed.

All the Highways are good bitchumen roads, no need to worry about dirt tracks unless you want to go out to some tourist spots.

open road speed limit is 130kmph in most places in NT. Be very careful if driving at sunrise/sunset, that's when the roos, etc are out feeding on the roads. I think going via Adelaide is the easier route but more boring, via Brisbane is 100kms shorter, or you can cut straight through on smaller hwys and roads.
