Hey just wondering what fuel pump I should purchase for my R30, my current one is whinging and whirring it's head off and will die pretty damn soon.

Mine has just died again. A long story but now I need another pump. Would an R31/VL RB30 pump fit?????

They sure do fit! They are pretty much identical.

I have even fitted a bosch 044 in the factory position!

Will an R31/VL keep up with my RB20, it has around 165rwkw? or do I bite the bullet and go a 044?

Naturally I want to get out of this as cheap as possible.

If my memory serves me correctly the vl turbo pump is an 070.

Will do the job for an rb20. I just went the 044 so know im not gonna be running short of fuel.

Hi,

the 070, 044 numbers, does the numbers represent litres per minute ?

Nigel

its the last three numbers in the model/part number for that pump.

if its not the last three its the first three but im pretty sure its the last three numbers.

has nothing to do with rate of flow.

my mate has a stock vl pump on his RB30et setup.... pushing 190kW at the rears.... through VLt turbo injectors (270cc i think)

is pretty much maxed out

the R31 pump is an internal one, and the VL one is external.

Vl pumps are cheap at the wreckers, just check the km on the dash before pulling one out of a 380,000km wreck...

also give it a really good flush and clean before useing it... hookup wires and run a few litres of fuel through it into a bucket etc...

it may be worth getting a Repco? Ryco? clear plastic high flowing fuel filter too.... then change it in a month or something to see if its full of residue etc

OR you can get new bosch or walbro units for $150 from bursons etc

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
