Got this email the other day (they must have sent it out to all the CAMS clubs)

Dear Michelle,

The Motor Racing Industry Pre-Release has begun. During the month of August 2003, the Mount Panorama Resort has been discounted for the Motor Racing Industry.

This is a 'one off opportunity' to own a Strata Titled Luxury Serviced Apartment right on Conrod Straight, with prices starting from $250,000. No more camping or driving back into town during race week, you and your family or clients can now enjoy five star comforts. You may already be aware, there are no Hotels or large scale accommodation on the track and the town has been in need of luxury accommodation for years.

The rest of the year is covered, if you want a return on your investment simply put your apartment in the Resort rental pool. Rydges Hotels & Resorts are under negotiations to manage the Resort.

This is a special release of land by Bathurst Council for tourism purposes to enhance the race track, in addition the NSW State Government are spending 10 Million Dollars on major upgrades to the Pit Areas.

The Pre-Release is strictly for one month only. L.J. Hooker Real Estate will take over all sales nationally from the 1St of September 2003 for the public release.

Click here: www.MountPanoramaResort.com.au to view plan drawings of the Resort. Feel free to distribute this to other members of the Motor Industry.

So there you go...might be a nice place to hang out a few times a year...like "The Great Race" and the 24 Hour...but would it be a worthwhile investment though???

My mate lives on Conrod straight, its great come race time. He gets me a residence pass which allows me to cruise around the track when all the booners are up the top getting pissed. Free tickets and a view down the straight are also a bonus.

    • Maybe also really stiffly sprung track cars. Get the inside wheel up in a corner and all the fun stops. Also me sometimes (rarely) when I have to stand on the brake to convince the diff to drive the wheel that is still on the ground when I'm trying to diagonally get over severe driveway entrance, etc.
    • I feel like I'm missing something. You had an authorised installer come out and install a new alarm. Post install the car doesn't start, and you aren't getting the installer back to fix what they did wrong?
    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
