I remember seeing somewhere alarm/immobiliser units that you could control with sms's in addition to the keyfob. I'm after one in particular that I can start/stop my car via sms's. Is there a single unit that can do this or will I have to daisy chain multiple unit together? Would be nice if it had a turbo timer / 3 point immobilisation as well :D

mongoose m80 alarm + mongoose sms unit (http://www.mongoose.com.au/accessories/index.php?product_id=MTP-3)

The Series 2 model also has 2 text controlled pager outputs;

1. Pulse output - eg: To unlock the vehicle door(s) if your keys are inside

2. Continuous output - eg: To operate any device such as a relay - speak to your Mongoose dealer on various uses

I guess you could wire it somehow to turn on/off the car..

the mongoose sms unit was for sale on ns.com for a short period for $200~

There's a tonne of dodgy ones on ebay but I wouldnt trust them in protecting my car. Better off getting a quality system with an addon sms. Even if its several modules, a quality installer will be able to hide them so there is no problem?

hmmm been looking for a while now and it's kinda dissapointing that the only systems I can find that come anywhere close to doing what I want are the cheepass $300 ones of ebay......Most of the big name brand ones only seem to send u an sms in the case of activation of the alarm, there's no or extremley limited sms controlling features....

Appart from not complying with the australian regs for black wiring which isn't hard to change what are the other draw backs of one of these cheeper units?

I don't need GPS tracking as I already have that in a completley separate unit that is elsewhere in the car.

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product,that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
