I have search the entire brake section and can only find a few what ifs etc.

I understand that for a road car that ABS needs to be kept in for a whole host or reasons.

But for a track only car it can come out if required.

I understand that a different master cylinder is required aong with changing some of the piping which is no big deal. I have a kit for making my own hard piping so i can deal with that, even gives me the chance to install the brake bias into the system.

what is a great unknown to me is the effect it will have on the 4wd and other systems still in place. Are the wheels speed sensors connected through the ABS unit and then into the 4wd computer. If so can they could be bypassed so the 4wd still works.

i guess i need to hear for some one who has already done this swap, so i dont go in blind to a real problem before i start.

Shouldn't make any difference. Would be just the same as pulling the abs fuse.

Abs in R32's in shit and I do all track days with the fuse pulled. To slow refresh rate. As a lot of people will say, Abs in a 32 will cause a crash. The abs just unplugs at the asb unit. You can use a gtst master cyl and lines because that was what was in my car when I got it but I don't know if the pistons are different sizes?

Ok good start, but by unplugging the ABS am i unplugging the wheel speed sensors to the 4wd system. i guess if thats then the case i could just reconnect the wiring with an adpator or a lot od soldering. then if the wheel speed sensor are running through ABS that will sort that out.

need to look at diagram

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
