they're still trying to get anyone for anything.

I still don't get how its illegal after all it states that only if its permanently locked it is dangerous...

As your one isn't i would just contest that in court, backed up with a few letters maybe not just one.

I got something rather amusing in the mail today

"Notice to person permitted to go at large without bail"

It goes on to say the offence is "modification of vehicle parts or equipment affecting saftey. Act/legislation: Transport operations (RUM - VEH Stand.) Reg 1999 Section 6(1)(B).

So I went and looked that up at http://www.legislation.qld.gov.au/LEGISLTN...tOpRUVSSR99.pdf

It says, "(1) A motor vehicle, other than an articulated bus, must have

only—(a) 1 axle group, or single axle, towards the front of the

vehicle; and

(b) 1 axle group, or single axle, towards the rear of the

vehicle.

LOL... Im sorry but what about my diff? I've looked through the rest of the act and it mentions nothing about diffs. amusing.

Unfortunately....I think this is the section you might actually be looking for in there...

6 Modifying vehicle

(1) A person must not—

(a) modify a vehicle chassis; or

(b) modify a vehicle, its parts or equipment in a way that

adversely affects the safety of the vehicle.

Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.

Expect the copper who booked you to come in saying you said this or that when you didn't thats all i have to add to this.

Yeah, I do expect that to happen. I have a witness to the whole conversation though so I'm not too worried about that.

Hm... I don't think family can be a witness but hey, I aint a lawyer

Don't know why they couldn't be. I think family can choose not to provide evidence against you as a witness? But then they get into a bit of shit as well.

whens your court date??

4th of November, 9:30am. Bad enough taking me to court but making me wake up early on a day off work!!!! bastards!

Yeah I've got a lawyer. It would be retarded to attempt to go to court by myself for this.

When I come to power thou shalt be avenged!!!!!

:)

Seriously mate good luck. I hate to see good people pay whilst scumbags sit and grow fatter off our tax dollars........... The unfortunate fact is that busting "hoons" makes headlines due to stupid dunnydore drivers and we fill in the numbers game that win votes come election time... Cleaning up the streets of people like you is obviously a higher priority than getting rid of the badguys who sell drugs to kids

Correct me if I'm wrong people.

I agree. If you were drifting through a school zone at 3:00pm then I would be the first to hold you while they bend you over lol :laughing-smiley-014: but just driving into a carpark and getting picked for this is garbage :) .

Best of luck TOMMAH and keep us posted as we all love it when someone is trying to beat the system :D .

you are one of many unlucky ppl who are targeted by the police

their agenda is to get you once for the following reasons

wake up call to scare you or make life difficult

be on their books so any future infringments can be escalated

raise revenue

justify their existance

when you go to court bring all the information you can about your case....

back it up with receipts and mechanic statments...

state that it was preventative maintenance to enhance saftey and NOT contrary to the law

have a plan of attack against the charges worked out by you and your lawyer.

hope this helps

My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
