Hi There,

Finally i got the car. Full NISMO body kit. Brembo. No Stereo, but have ordered one on the way. Any one can shed some light on how to take apart the double DIN or the center console? After I took out the gear cover, I see 2 screws at the bottom of the 2 DIN. But After they are undone, the whole console just wouldn't bunch. Any idea?

start on the left: remove passenger sill trim, remove passenger kick panel, remove visible screw on lower corner of glovebox, open glovebox, remove ALL screws, remove single screw on inside lower corner of glove box, remove visble screws on the pocket, remove pocket, remove gearstick cover , remove two screws. pull off ac display cover. remove screw.

not done yet.

remove 10mm bolt under hood release. pull that panel off. remove two screws that hold pocket in, remove pocket and undo cig lighter.

almost done.

grab radio assy and pull outward. the WHOLE thing comes out. disconnect EVERYTHING that is attached to it. take it out and set on table. remove 4 screws that hold the bracket in place. remove pocket. fit radio.

order a harness and antenna adpater from me and wire the whole lot up.

reassemble!

if this gets you I do this for a living and if you are brissy based I will do it for a fee.

Thanks Chris,

That looked like a whole afternoon job, Damn. I'll try it this weekend, If fail, I'll contact you again. I'm living near caridale shopping center. I got an extra Immobilizer fitted with the car, It has a button to press after I have turn the ignition on, wait 4sec before I can start up. I'm thinking of getting rid of it, before I even start to get an extra spare key, since i got only 1 key. Maybe add in an extra Alarm/Immobiliser too.

Hi Chris,

I got the car from a guy from gold coast under the company, MAD VEHICLE PTY LTD. I saw the car for sale in the net and he drove it down to brisbane for the viewing. The worst part was, I didn't even test drive the car when I bought it. He said he got no insurance for it yet as the car was not registered yet. I'm thinking of getting my HID done, but I'm a little confuse with my head lights unit. As you can see from the pics, My low beam is on the top (Can't see the bulb type), but my high beam is the bottom lamp on a H4? I thought H4 have high & low built in together? I have also a spot light switch on my steering column which didn't work, maybe i need spot light in the front bar.

The low beam is on top usd D2R HID.

The High beam is on bottom with H4.

The drive light is share H4 with high beam. (control by the switch on light handle).

  • 2 weeks later...

I'll ask a few questions:

when you pulled the passenger dash loose did you undo the yellow plug? that is the passenger airbag feed. did you unplug anything yellow?

as for resetting the light. I can but I'll have to get a scan tool first. that will also tell me what it came up for in the first place.

I think i did undo the one at the back of the glove box only. The bigger plug. So, when can you get the scan tool? About the TV recepetion, I manage to get some channel, but it's fuzzy in black and white. How can i get a better picture? Did you see a plug in for mic at the back of the system? It's seems that the other side can't hear me when i call them using the bluetooth function. I did find a mic in the box.

    • I was using the wiring diagram I have So 12.74V is coming into the rear Fuel Pump relay as I measured.  When I turn the key to ON im getting 0.6V to the Fuel Pump plug; which i assume is backfeed voltage and doesnt include the 12V from ignition power.  The rear relay is working and being triggered.  From the diagram I clearly see the rear relay 80 = Rear Relay going into the Body/H loom (R-27) 27 = Fuel Pump plug going into the Body/H loom (T-20) 40 = Short Connector (R-27) I'm reading 12.74V on the blue/black wire which is the power for the Fuel Pump   From this diagram I can see the Ignition relay goes into the front and up to the ignition  2 = Fuel Pump Relay <1M> (R-27) 37 = ING Relay <1M> I started from the pump using this reference Which the way I read it (referencing Nissan wiring color codes) is: Pin Wire Color Function 1 B/P (Black/Pink) Ground 2 L/W (Blue/White)        ECU Trigger 3 SB (Sky Blue) Fuel Pump 5 L/B (Blue/Black) 12V Constant Tested SB to SB on Fuel Pump for continuity - confirmed Tested negative on Fuel Pump to 12V battery and L/B - confirmed 12V Pulled the relay putting 12V between Pin 1 & 2 and testing continuity on Pin 3 & 4 - confirmed relay   So that has me looking at this part of the circuit to understand whats happening here...and im still confused. From best I can tell; the disconnect is back to my previous diagram; between Ignition Relay and Fuel Pump Relay...which yet again; afaik is where the immobiliser should.    Thats what I was trying to explain to GTSboy; im not trying to fix it myself; yet I seem to have to get a Masters in Electrical Engineering (while im busy doing my actual job of DevOps & Cloud Engineering) somehow.  I just wanted more expert opinions; or more so that what I tested is correct and proves it to something around that area; to go back to the alarm tech (for a 3rd time) that he needs to fix it. He keeps telling me its not the alarm. He lives on the complete other side of the city so i understand not wanting to make a trip but as I said before if its the alarm it should be up to him to fix it. But he's adament its not; even though I pointed out the FP was immobilised through the original alarm. To my mind; it seems that the ECU is sending the signal; but the ignition is not getting 12V down the line.
    • Maybe also really stiffly sprung track cars. Get the inside wheel up in a corner and all the fun stops. Also me sometimes (rarely) when I have to stand on the brake to convince the diff to drive the wheel that is still on the ground when I'm trying to diagonally get over severe driveway entrance, etc.
    • I feel like I'm missing something. You had an authorised installer come out and install a new alarm. Post install the car doesn't start, and you aren't getting the installer back to fix what they did wrong?
    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
