howyd guys and gals

been meaning to post this but haven't had time. Come home from work last fri night, tramming it up on St.Kilda rd, when i look to the left, at the corner of the old National Gallery of Vic, there is a White R34 GTR a bit down from the intersection, bonnet to bonnet with another car, both hoods up. I think i saw jumper leads, but i'll got a quick look. We have a good samaritan R34 GTR owner among us? Or we got one with a dodge battery :D, hehe anyone know what the story is? Or if it's anyone here? I think GTR-34 has a white R34 yeah?

cheers,

hope everyone is good. :)

nice work, triple plate clutch?!? your car must be pretty beasty to need that sort of holding power :D Well i'd like to think the place doing ur car isn't taking it out and running the battery flat! :)

well the only other White R34 GTR i know of is the HKS-R34, the BMT one?? Anyone know if that has a dodgy battery? ;)

Guest PatPat34

i don't know whether he has a dodgy battery, but i am pretty sure the owner for that HKS-R34 went overseas............and saw him couple of times, not really know him very well, but chat with him some times, and been to drag long time ago.

i don't think he is using anything cheap in his car. and i heard cops stoped him for only get a chance to look at his car in close..............hehehe

If you want to work out which car was 'being jumped' and which was the 'jumper' - just think about which one was facing the wrong way, according to the road :D

So was it the GTR or not? That is the question :P

And I thought GTR-34 was on a blue Spec II?

i think it was before me, but not too certain of that, coz we did buy it of another gtr r34 owner and it was blue plates could of been... but now on a white v-spec...;)

hey patpat34, unfortunately, no that isn't my car in the pic. It's a Bayside Blue R34 GT-T (factory) which is the car i want to get. I don't know of anyone in oz who has one, and i certainly haven't seen one so i thought it would be something pretty cool if i could get one. But i might be doing other things now with the money i've saved up, still in decision mode :)

I think ur right Yakuza, the plates are prob HKS-34 and Dale, the GTR was facing the RIGHT way, the other car was facing against traffic, so it looks like we have a White R34 GTR running around with a dodge battery :)

Is the HKS-34 a BMT tuned car? U get ur car looked after at BMT jet? maybe u could shed some more light on this... cos i doubt there would be many R34 GTR's in Melb.

ur car a daily driver GTR-34?

cheers.

Gohan: HKS-34 is indeed a white R34 GTR VSpec. It has black leather (factory) interior and a (rather noticable) CF bonnet. Currently has 18" bronze TE37's like mine.

Was recently a native of Southbank (just near my office which is just near your office) - so would be regularly on St Kilda Rd...

You don't need access to the battery in the boot to jump start a skyline.

There is a fuse box in the engine bay with a positive terminal, the big plus sign in red, hook it there and it will do.

The battery in the GTR is in the boot..

SS8_Gohan: well it used to be a daily car, until i got diked and now cant drive it... Since i havent been able to drive, we have just modified the car and just take it to dragz and stuff...At the momemt we have 290kw at all 4 wheels so its pretty good

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
