Thought id share some pics of my new toy, its a tony kart thats been lengthened 40cm with a gsxr750 motor. I used a calliper off my lancer and a clutch mastercylinder off a silvia frontcut for the brakes with a braided line i had made up. The throttle and clutch cables also had to be made up. This is the first attempt and there are a few small things im going to change to make it better, first thing will be the gear ratio. In 3rd you let the clutch out give a bit of gas and it fries the tyres. Had some trouble getting it to run good with the short exhaust on it and the free flowing air filters it was running extremely lean on the main jet, so far we have drilled them out to 2mm but its still got some more left to go. Im thinking of putting the t25 turbo from the front cut i got on it later but gotta finish my lancer project first lol.

Looks awesome. a mate built one similar, they are really a bit silly, there is no way they put any power down, it will still be wheelspinning at 140km/h regardless of what gear ratio you put in it. Just be carefull, the shorrt wheelbase means that they are keen to turn around, and at 100km/h they can step out and flip in about .1 second.

Looks pretty cool Russell, i used to have a shifter kart with a ducati 848 motor - V-twin FTW :google:

Its an interesting set up, i take it the motor is a pre 98 750 motor???

Yeah its a 93 model motor. Burnt a new set of tyres off it today and its unreal fun but tyres dont last long enough.

Where did you run your kart at?

:( yeah tyres dont last long when your having some fun with these things, probably one of the only downsides really.

I ran mine of a couple of karting tracks here and also took it around Baskerville (full race track) for a bit of fun as well. It did see the "occasional" street use but was always out of well established housing areas so we didn't annoy anyone :)

Gixxer kart is cool, my first shifter kart was powered by an 02 gixxer 1k motor which i sold so i could build the 848 (V-twin FTW :( )

I'll try and dig out some pics to post up :D

hehe.. man that is seriously over powered! can I have a go?

I'm building a off road buggy with a 1.3L in it... should weigh in about 350kg (if i can keep the weight down, also depends how much i can strip off the engine!) Wont be as crazy as that little machine, but will feel like it on dirt!

Good on ya!

This is my toy that i have created.

2005 model yfz450 atv with a 2006 model zx10r engine.

ive had it to 230 kph across a paddock several times, and

also 160 kph wheelies are a breeze.

have a look on youtube under yfz10r for some vids.

so grandmasterb tell me more about the ducati 848.

im looking for that exact motor for my next quad.

Looks like a pretty wild conversion Darren

I purchased a written off 848 to pull the motor/box out of to use from auction. I had actually one out there to bid on something else but then got crazy thoughts when i spotted it

I was lucky that no else bid on it so it only cost me $1300 which i couldn't really complain with as there were a couple of other things that i sold from the bike that were still in good condition :bunny:

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
