can anyone help me with spotting the difference between a late model r32 gtr and a late madel v-spec gtr? i'm looking at buying a gtr but everyone reckons there's is v-spec. i haven't believed any of them have been yet. just need to know th e difference.

thanks

Hey buddy, from what i know, there is 2 v-spec models in the r32's.. in 93 they had a v-spec, in 94 they had a v-spec II. both had Brembo brakes, and BBS 17x8's. they definately do exist and im sure they had other differences, maybe no rear wiper or abs??? {maybe thats a nismo car??!!} not too sure, but the Vin# can be used in the forum to find out if the car/s your looking at are genuine...

get the vin number off the build plate and post it in here

someone will put it through the nissan fast software and tell you if it is a v-spec of not.

R32 GTR - Standard (22nd May 1989)

R32 GTR Nismo - Standard R32 GTR but with a Body Kit, which was designed to improve the air flow to the intercooler (2 Air vents were installed on the front bar), the engine (A Bonnet Lip Spoiler was fitted) and down force (A Boot Lip Spoiler was fitted under the standard spoiler. (22nd February 1990)

R32 GTR N1 - N1 Specification Engine = Race Spec (more refined engine). The car had the ABS, A/C, Sound System, Rear Wiper and Boot Carpet were removed and light weight head lights we installed all to save weight. (19th July 1991)

R32 GTR V-Spec (Victory Specification) - Standard R32 GTR with upgraded brakes to Brembos, updated ATTESA E-TS (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All-Terrain Electronic Torque Split) and factory 17" BBS wheels and 235/45/17 tires. (3rd February 1993)

R32 GTR V-Spec II - Same as V-Spec, only with wider tyres, 245/45/17. (14th February 1994)

Only good thing about the V-Spec's were its Brembo brakes, other thatn that, I read that they weighed more then the standard R32 GTR's.

I would pick the N1 out of all of them due to its engine refinement. Change the colour to Black or Gun Metal Grey (As the N1's only came in a Crystal White colour), add on a Nismo body kit and Nismo LMGT 4 wheels.

+1 and its the safest way to know.

Yeah, they are pretty rare... there were just over 400 built in total so finding one would be difficult.

Also, from what I heard they don't have a/c.... which is not ideal as a road car

Yep, no A/C.

Does not really bother me as I never use my A/C, even in the summer, just have the windows down or drive later during the day when its not so hot.

    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
