Roy
Rob77... the exhaust housing you use on your TD06 be it 20g/25g will have a huge influence, just as it does on the HKS turbos. (or any for that matter) Your using the 16cm exhaust housing which as you know is huge. Swap it for the 10cm like mine, or even 12cm like Trust recommend on the RB25 and the turbo will be alot more responsive. And beg, borrow and steal and get a Trust manifold if you can, they are worth every cent as they make a measurable difference. Steve and others are making great, responsive power with HKS turbos, just like some are with Trust turbos. I think moral of the story should be dont sell your Trust turbo short. How responsive would a 3037 with a 1.01 exhaust housing be on a stock RB25 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/23284-hks3037s-56t-retune/page/6/#findComment-507900 Share on other sites
rob77
If I changed the exhaust housing to a smaller one I wouldnt make as much HP would I, on such low boost? I think I will change the manifold, but I'll go for the same design as gtst-vspec, a tubular one with steam pipe and then ceramic coated. This way I can keep it low mount and looking relatively stock to the untrained eye As for me saying its a lagmonster, I was poking fun, I dont think 4600rpm for full boost is that bad, it would be nicer quicker and I think its achievable if I do the ecu and the manifold... as I said give me about 5 weeks and the ecu should be in Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/23284-hks3037s-56t-retune/page/6/#findComment-507927 Share on other sites
GTS-t VSPEC
Rob, It will be interesting to see the effect that the ECU, then the manifold has on the lag. Will give us all some idea as the overall benefits:D Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/23284-hks3037s-56t-retune/page/6/#findComment-508110 Share on other sites
Steve
Rob, you may find if you put a smaller housing on, you will loose a few kw up top, but you will gain mid range and boost response. rob77
Yeah, but trust exhaust housing are like $700-$800 and I'd have to have the housing modified to take my wastegate onto it I think I'd rather put that towards the manifold Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/23284-hks3037s-56t-retune/page/6/#findComment-508226 Share on other sites
Steve
manifold and a good tune - you reckon you have traction probs now:D If you find a spare adj cam gear that would probably help too.
