Where Is Sydneykid?

Hi

I was firstly wondering if anyone knew how to get into contact with Sydneykid appart from PMs, as I want to buy his R33 GTST group buy but he hasnt responded to any of my 11 PMs over the last 1.5 months. If no one knows how else I cant get a hold of him I want to know what coliovers I should look at buying, as so many ppl say Jap ones are to stiff, im not sure what else I should look at. I was looking at Cusco Zero 2E's or Teins but not sure what to get now.

I use my car as a daily driver but I would still like a reasonably good set up for track days, my budget is between $2000-3000.

Any help would b great

Having driven a few cars now with Teins, i cant see how anyone can write them off. You can say what you want about them technically being good, bad etc. Fact is they deliver good results and at a simple tweak of a knob you can some adjustment in the drivability.

I used to have Bilsteins and Whiteline springs and i found them to be quite good and gave me years of reliable service. Build quality is exceptional. I have been running Teins for a bit and they are an improvement over the off the shelf Whiteline bits i was running.

So, if you can wait for the Group Buy, then wait...plenty of people have been happy with their purchase. If you cant wait then grab some Aussie Super Streets. I think for the money they are the best shock you can get.

But whichever way you go, dont just read and buy based on ppls thoughts. Post up in your states section, find out when the next meet/function is and go for a few rides in cars with suspension setups you are considering. There have been ppl not happy with the Whiteline stuff, some dont like the Teins etc. Its all very, very , VERY subjective. :banana:

i have to second this.. the bilstien packages are great however the tein aus spec super streets are bloody awesome and i highly reccomend them

email dan at ERD for a price.. he offers a similar bilstien kit with the option of tein super streets drop him a line at [email protected] much much better service than SK

Thanks for both of your replys, i'll definatly keep my eye out for a Vic event that I can get to, and hopefully see what a few different set ups feel like on a track.

Has anyone had, or been in a car with standard Bilsteins, as in ones that arent revalved or set up by SK as I wouldnt mind finding out if these would suit my needs? I know I could buy the PSS9's but I think their going to be way to expensive for what i'll be doing with my car, but I dont know if the B6 sport would b good enough if I start going to a fair few track days. I wouldnt mind having the adjustability of coilovers with height and rebound adjustment but I know once I have it set up properly I will prob just leave it, so im just not sure weather to go for a decent strut and spring setup or Just go for the fully adjustable option now?

Keep an eye out for the Vic monthly dinner at Bells Hotel in South Melbourne. I think its the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Plenty of cars running the Bilsteins and Teins etc etc. I think you will find that you will like the Teins Superstreets. The two cars i have been in with them were great, and there was an R32 GTR that used to run them in QLD, (Giant) and the cr was out of this world quick on them before it went for shocks worth about 15k....so good on the street and hell capable on the track.

If i hadnt of gotten my Teins RAs i know i woudl go the Super Street

Anyone know what is the actual spring rates of the Tein Super Street for Australia or Japan Spec? Im from Malaysia and the one sold in our local distributor is coming from Japan. Now im running R-Tunes Nismo coilvers for my GTT, my other option is to swap the current springs to SWIFT spring (lower rates) which seem to have good reviews.

Appreciate for some feedback.

      Initially I thought having a pair of Recaro seats would be a big bonus, it turns out these do get a little uncomfortable on long journeys (my fault, not the seat). I had a look through the GSM Performance website at reclining seats and booked an appointment to visit their show room. I got the Recaro Sportster CS for the R34 from here, was very happy with the service received so of course a re-visit was in order. Unfortunately the two Corbeau seats I had chosen aren't on display but they had 4 other options available. Two seats dug into my back, one dug into my legs and the other was perfect. I also found out that Recaro seats use a larger bolt pattern so some adaption was required. Luckily GSM offer some universal adaptors that should solve this problem. I searched the interwebs for price comparisons and Corbeau themselves were the cheapest at £300 cheaper (for the pair). I asked GSM if they could price match, unfortunately they couldn't. I later received an email saying Corbeau would honour them the same discount, but the purchase was already made. I did however order the brackets from GSM, both arrived on the same day. I started with the passenger side seat, knowing this was going to be a little trial and error. There are 3 mounting holes at the front and 2 at the rear on these JURAN Racing seat rails.  With the adaptor brackets mounted, the allen cap bolts started to push into the seat, NOT GOOD!  The rear mounting holes lined up but there were issues at the front. The holes were 1/2 hole out, so the brackets got a tickle with the drill to modify the holes. The supplied bolts weren't going to be long enough and a spacer was needed to stop the adaptor bars from bending. A local fasteners company supplied be with some nylon spacers and longer bolts (M8x30, although these will be replaced with 35mm long shortly) A before and after I pre-drilled the front bracket before making a start on the driver's seat to save some time. And in no time at all that was in the car too. The all black seats have transformed the interior and these are MUCH more comfortable. The only downside with the new Corbeau seats is I sit a little higher, but I'll happily accept that over discomfort. The Youtube video can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPyttKPktXA

      All 3 I guess. The car came with the JASI Aero 4 door Type R Full Kit unpainted so this was one thing at the top of my list to complete then I noticed there were body panels parts for this kit so i picked them up along with some black mesh to fill in the front bumper and front side air vents. car is at a paint and body shop atm completing this work. Next I will be addressing the internal bells and whistles, great summer project I can do with the kids.  full interior removal - ,boys car sound deadening - pads and spray ,boys stereo, sound, lighting - Big 3, GTT or bigger alternator ,kids head lining - dye black add star lighting mod ,daughter. That's it for the next 5-6 months. I have some motor maintenance  work i have to plan out. oil filter relocation, gaskets, mounts. beyond that, mind is starting to turn over if i can use a DET intake plenum, block off turbo ports & pipe in a air intake.

      roller coaster of a ride. Alarm system was removed & main harness was repaired where possible. still no fix just random successful starts. moved on to the replacing the ignition switch and relay. well all this troubleshooting & repair has been going on, the car is at a paint and body shop being pushed around. Ive been going down there on odd days after work to get it sorted.

      PROBLEM WAS BROKEN COOLANT SENSOR!!! Replaced with a new one and its running mint.
