As stated in topic description...can single work wheels nuts be purchased somewhere? if so, anyone know where? or can they be re-threaded somehow? My cousin f**ked one up trying to put it back on my car while "HELPING" me put one of my wheels back on while I was on the other side putting the other on...

...pfft..."some" help indeed.

i dont particularly wanna have to buy a whole set for another 200 bucks or so, just so i can use ONE.

Thanks in advance

Justin

i would try ask a supplier and ask.. if not try get in touch with the manufacturer and see if you can't get a hold of a rep or something.. say that they are for "show" use and ur wanting to keep it all "work" related rims.. might prick their ears up and maybe.. just maybe you could get a response

if not.. give ur cousin some work's wheel nuts for xmas

Give my cousin some? he f**ked MINE up...HE should be getting ME some work wheel nuts for xmas! haha but yeah i'll ask my supplier...

buy a set of lock nuts.

Then you have 3 extra work nuts.

and you rims are safe

Well yeah, but then it looks kinda ghey coz each wheel has four red nuts and one silver or whatever color they end up being...

get a $2 can of spray paint and paint them. 2 or so coats of sealer.. and just be careful when you take the bolt out to not chip the paint

that's a bit hard...already used a rattle gun on the work nuts and even the work nuts have started chipping... :D oh well...

go buy yourself a torque wrench and have it set to about 100nm and then you will be fine for next time

and yeh liek Hamish said, you used a rattle gun on $200 wheels nuts????

*sigh* PLEEEEEEEASE...don't get me started...i'm pissed off enough as it is...

bah...i'll explain...

got defected...too low...so removed exhaust to gain clearance but still too low...jacked up car to adjust coilovers, but had an extremely hard time doing so...and coz I was extremely sick (and still am) I just couldnt muster the strength to keep trying.

...so called my suspension place...explained to my suspension guy (manager) what was goin on...he told me to bring it in and he'd fix it up.

took it to my guy who took the car in and I went for a walk to get something to eat. I came back and the manager had gone home apparently soon after I left and left my car in the hands of one of his employees (who i'd never seen before) and he'd already used the rattle gun. Beleive me...if I knew it was gonna be this way, i'd have stayed and made sure everything was gonna be alright...I just assumed my guy would be the one to look after my car. And I STILL think i'm sitting too low...havent gone to get the defect cleared, so we'll see...

so annoyed...

Have a look around for someone who's got 4 stud wheels to sell you their spares. S13 owners who buy these nuts should have some.

I've got 4 spare blue Ray nuts here, but they're the wrong brand, wrong colour and the wrong thread pitch. :)

I got my nuts for ~$120 delivered. :P

yeah for sure kkr are fine, I think everyone just believes in buying things with a brand name on them... its just a wheel nut guys... I don't see how works nuts out perform the others that have the same finish...

    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
    • Sounds like you've got an interesting adventure ahead here with local support if you have trouble! My guess is that, unboosted, you will be OK with a small upgrade like -9. What will happen is that once the stock ECU sees more airflow than it expects it will add a heap of fuel and pull a heap of timing to be safe because it can't understand how it could get that much air without there being an issue. You will see clouds of black smoke and it won't pull hard through the midrange and top end. So, overall it will be a bit frustrating but should be OK. If you are still nervous set the base timing back 2o through the CAS, but it will be even more sluggish everywhere. As said above through...this is not my guarantee your engine won't be blown into a million pieces, leaving you looking for very hard to find parts A better idea is get a computer with logging ASAP, wire in a wide band O2 sensor and a use remote tuner. I've done multiple cars this way and while it is not as good as a specific tune on a dyno they can get it 90% right. I'd suggest if you can afford an R33 GTR these days you can afford an ECU and tune. And if you can't afford that you sure won't be able to afford the rebuild if it goes bad in the meantime,.
    • Yeah it would be nice if someone took the time to put that sort of information together, but there are a lot of variations in looms. I think you are making this way hard for yourself if you just want to get it running....sourcing an SR20 with the right wiring will be a billion times easier than matching the RB loom to an S15 chassis. If you do end up going this way, you just need to trace every wire in the loom with a multimeter, 95% of them will go to a location you can confirm at the ECU.....and then post it up for the next person who needs it
    • Just top it up with water, and keep a general idea of how much you added. It is normal for water to be pushed into and pulled out of the reservoir through the cap, and it should not be more than half full or it will be likely to overflow when hot. Any decent mechanic can do a pressure test of the cooling system to confirm if you have a leak. Keep in mind if it is only leaking a little and when hot it may well evaporate before you see it hit the ground
    • I'd ask the shop what they used and use that. Mixing coolants is sometimes OK, sometimes not, and you have know the details of each coolant to know whether it's a good idea or not.
