Just look under the bonnet - check the plate. The RS did come out in n/a form but I'd give it a miss - all the disadvantage of a big heavy car with only a 2L non turbo engine - if you're on a budget you would be better off with the Avenir and save up for a 2.5L RS4T.

There was a mint low km (80,000) RS4T in Manukau City just now for $6500 - you might get an OK reposessed one for about $4k to $5k if you look around. Give me a phone in Auckland if you like (09) 838 8602

I'm pretty sure you could only get the 4wd with either the RB25DE or the RB25DET. AFAIK the RB20DE was only offered in the 2WD

Just look under the bonnet for front driveshafts - but if you see an RB20 dont bother.

This looks like the best buy on Trade Me at the moment - good Km looks good in photos - haven't checked it out because I already have one:

Would be a good buy at $5k to $6k

i drove it...before he put up the pics of the engine. Was probably the slowest car ive ever driven, was super tidy though.

But no thanks! kiwirs4t know of any cheap rs4s? maybe i needa save more, i have 4k so far, drove an avenir gt, it hauled ass! but stagea was heaps more cumfy

Go for a ride in the one I posted above (in Manukau city) to see if you like it...he might go down to $5k. It won't be lightning fast but for no cost you can reroute the hoses to get a bit more boost and a bigger exhaust and gutted cat etc will make it quite zippy. You sometimes see repossessed ones being auctioned and they go for less but the Manukau City Car looks mint and i sometimes regret that mine is not as original as i would have liked.

I posted some information I got from my HyperRev magazines in a thread, here's a link: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=4120145

    • Yes the gear for the R33/34 is different, it is red and has a different number of teeth. My part didn't come with that gear though, so I don't know how many teeth are on the red one. You'd have to reuse the 260RS/R33 gear, as long as it's not destroyed.   Haha, as unfortunate as that might be it was working fine for about the first 1500km I've had the car for now.
    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
