mine took 3 weeks to the day .... have heard it can be up to 6 weeks.

And if you reckon you were done doing 80km/h in a 60km/h zone then you are a tool and should not be proud of it. Idiots like you give us all a bad name. There is a time and a place - and doing 80 in a 60 zone is just unacceptable IMHO.

I received a 65km/h speeding ticket while over in Melbourne one time... lol

I got a ticket in Vic last year (around the Nhill area) for doing 83 in an 80 zone ... 100m from a 100kph zone, towing a trailer up a hill!!!! The cop was totally anal about it.

$255 fine or something like that and loss of 3 demerit points ... f**ker!

It was either that or a bullshit defect...

who was doing 80 in a 60 zone :S havnt got it so im guessing it was just a test flash... agreed on the 80 in a 60 zone is stupid!

Sorry - that wasn't directed at you Adam - it was in response to this:

Today on Regency rd just before main north rd heading towards regency tafe I was doing about 20k over speed limit and noticed a mint green police commodore on right lane (facing me) taking a photo... I'm not sure if it was me tho... do cops take photos only in their direction or both directions? cause there was another maroon xr6 driving past cop car on their lane at the same time and not sure if cops got me, him or both...

Either way... if they got me I will just appeal and get my licence back lol

For someone to joke about breaking the law then bragging they would just 'appeal and get their license back lol' is just plain stupidity - you don't even deserve to have a license mate. It is all great until you hit my Grandma doing 80km/h in a 60 zone, then I come hunt you down.

Jesus... what a load of crap you guys are selling here... I got caught in peak hour traffic and I was just keeping up with the rest of the traffic (which is why I dont know if cops got me or other car) The only difference between you and me is that I admitted I did 20 over limit, and you don't, because you're afraid cops are watching this forum 24/7 waiting to break into your house any time and defect shit out of your car...

If you check this and other similar topics 90% of members have been fined and lost their licence at some point... you can check youtube and there are even videos from sau members speeding more over speed limit then I did... no offence, good on ya if you've never speeded or just never been caught, but you can sell this moralistic crap to your mum.

we have all sped at one point or another rocky, but sau isnt the place to be talking about it.

We never claimed we were saints ... but we don't go talking about excessively speeding either.

How is it that you were 'keeping up with the traffic' and yet did 20 kph over the limit. Are you suggesting that everyone on the road was speeding as well?

I seriously doubt that quoted '90% of people have lost their licence'...Sounds like the old 80/20 rule. 80% of all statistics are made up bullshit. Pun intended.

Nope, I have never lost my license, and I am willing to BET that far less than 50% of SAU members have ever lost theirs - let alone the 90% you claim.

Do use use Sex Panther? :P "They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time. " :P

And I don't think it is ok to do 80km/h in a 60 zone, regardless what other traffic is doing.

I am definitely not a saint, but I would never do 80km/h in a 60 zone - especially in traffic. Just silly. /end rant/rebuttal

had my license since 1977 and never lost mine at all so please dont count me in ya bullshit statistics . that icludes car /bike and heavy truck ,ive towed race cars all over this country spend a shit load of hours on the road for work and pleasure so no not all of us have lost ours

You're born to be a traffic cop by the sounds of it.

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
