ok alot of people gave me a few replys about what the weird whistle was in my car but i though ill upload it and then they can watch it and hear it for them selfs i played with the trotle a bit u can hear it go wen i start to accelerate and the whistle dies down this sounds alot louder than it should be because when the bonnet is closed you obviously cant hear it as much.

Alot of people told me to take it back and i did when i noticed it and he told me they took the engine out and they could not find anything wrong and its not something i should be concerend about but i hate it and i want it to run quiet and smooth like alot of other GT-Rs so watch and give me your feed back.

ps. cars out of warenty now for the rebuild and he f**ked me over the last time i was there so going back is not an option!!!

Yeah from the vid it sounds like more of a squeak than a whistle, most probably what Karl said, poor water on your belts when its running see if it stops for a few seconds.

If it was a whistle noise I'd say it was your intake/induction pipes/exhaust/turbo. If it was a scrape noise like metal on metal inside the engine I'd be worried and taking it back to the rebuilder.

if your think its internal grab a big flat head screw driver, put the handle to your ear and the blade on various engine parts and see where it's coming from.

Good luck :P

mmmm funny you should say that about the belts because at the front i noticed one of the belts is worn on the the side and i looked down with a torch and it looks like it might be hitting a bolt for some reason ill try that water thing tonight and ill tell you what happens to it

Turbo seals etc were replaced not long back pretty sure its not them to me it sounds like its coming from the front but then i cant tell 100% because if you lean in it sounds like its coming from the plenum or like under it near the injectors.

thanks for your help ill keep you guys posted

I am not a guru,

But there sounded like a Knock in the background.....

I thought I could just hear it over the noise of the lifters.....

Possible other issues? Big End Bearing?

As well as Belts slipping

knock ? wtF? i just got it rebuilt car drives fine its peaking on the dyno and its not over boosted it runs fine does not miss a beat its just a noise and thanx for that gay little photo that really helps me mate thanks i dont need stupid immature comments like that im asking for peoples help if you don't want to help go make a thred about being a sad flamin mongrel!

I poured water on the belts its not that thanks guys for that advice but didn't work its coming from under the injectors im going with air leek the car runs 100% tho no problems at all

yea man mmmmmm i will take it just in the spraying process atm trying to get the Bit*ch on the Rd asap but i will take it to someone asap like the cars performance could not be any better i just have it in the back of my mind and a bit concerned about it ah wellz :( have not had much luck with the car and cant see that changing but ill take it to someone in next few weeks n see how i go thanks man

    • To be determined, Luke, to be determined. 😁 Definitely the car
    • It might be worth having a good look at the chassis behind the bumper then; most people prefer the series 2 look so it might have been changed to cheaper parts as part of an earlier repair
    • The car itself a series 2. I was just curious about the headlights and just wanted to confirm that they were series 1. Good to know the rest of the front end is series 1. It’ll be easier for me to find parts on the aftermarket side of things lol
    • If you've wired up the coils & injectors properly, & have the neo CAS loom for the trigger, it should all work. The VCT works the same way so just different plugs between s1 & neo. Assuming DBW if no IAC. Don't bother with the stock boost solenoid with g4x.
    • THERE IS NO IAT SENSOR ON ANY SINGLE TURBO RB. And the one on an RB26 is not for "engine control" - it's really too big and too slow and is only used for over-temp alarming (as far as I can tell). Anyway, you don't have one. You want/need one for the Link, then you need to buy one, find a spot for it, and wire it in. You do know that the stock boost solenoid is not capable of "control", right? It is merely on or off, for the low boost (5 psi) and high boost (7psi), which the ECU enforces mostly based on gear. The stock solenoid is not for PWM control and is not plumbed up in a way to provide it. If you want to control boost properly, then you need a proper MAC valve. And yes, you can wire either of them direct to the ECU. Well, I assume you can - I don't know what the boost solenoid pins on the plug and play Link are capable of. They really should be as capable as any normal Link - but seeing as it is plg and play, it might be limited to stock functionality. Read the doco.   You really do just want to plug stuff together without understanding how it works, right? I can't help you there. I don't know the plug types or pinning on half the stuff you're asking about. If I had to do it I would sit down with the wiring diagrams, the car/looms and a multimeter and work out what is what.
