Through Paul33's PFC thred there this link to a site called NewCelica.org and how to's with PFC and Datalogit .

http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=258454

I was interested to see that they were logging wide band 02 signals through the datalogit box and getting an AFR reading rather than just a voltage output signal from the 02 probes control box .

The AFR measuring kit I have is a Tech Edge WB3A2 which uses an LSU-7200 probe and I'll be really rapt if I can get the Datalogit to log my engines parameters and AFR as well . If I can do this and have just the supplied Sewell serial/USB converter cable between the Datalog and my lap top it sould make logging and tuning a bit easier .

Thoughts ? Cheers A .

Yep I mentioned in your other thread I've got a 2EO kit data logging with the datalogit software. It's reading AFR's from the 02 probe control box.

Cheers

i use this for tuning ALL the time.

You need a wire, (i use speaker wire) there are 2 Wide band outputs on the techedge, wire the first one to AN1 and the second one to AN2.

once you do this you need to set all the ticks in logging in the monitor page, then go to setup the wide band and put in the settings, available on techedge site (cannot remember but i think 0 volts is 9aft and 5v is 20afr or was it the other way around ?) double check.

then add a watch for wide band AN1 / AN2 and it should work

works a treat! if you have dramas let me know il help you sort it out.

Thanks fellas , really keen to get that Datalogit kit here and plug it all in .

BTW , my computer hardware mate searched all over for those Sewell serial/USB converter cables but no one seems to have them here in Aus .

He reckons they must have some UART gadget to control the flow of data to the USB end of things .

The Sewell site reckons it has a "Prolific" chipset - probably in the serial plug end .

Thanks all , cheers A .

I'm feeding the wideband output from a TechEdge 3A2 unit into my e-manage ultimate for logging and all i had to do was set the AFRs at 0V and 5V in the e-manage. Luckily it assumes a linear scale, the same as the 3A2 output - see wbo2 website for the scale, for this model it's linear from 0V at 9:1 AFR to 5V at 19:1 AFR.

edit: as Guilt-Toy said above basically.

yeh im using the same sorta setup except its a innovative w/b... only thing is all my numbers came back pretty rich.. but on the dyno the log shows it runnin pretty lean.. but the weird thing is my car always smells like its runnin abit rich

So im just not sure of the accuracy of the numbers or perhaps my cords are abit long =P

The ATEN USB to Serial is what we use at work and I can tell you that it works for absolutely everything.

I used my techedge unit on my fcon pro, worked quiet well tho the calibration of my wideband unit wasnt set up correctly it actually read that my car was running ok, where i know its rich so very rich!

    • You still want a proper tune on the stock ECU though. Stock tune + stock ECU with GT-SS/-9s is probably playing with fire if you're running more than stock airflow/power.

    • There was a great one on Victoria Rd in Gladesville too back in the day. I can only assume GTSBoy is thinking of the mill up on the wollondilly, no restaurant there any more but they have restored the original steam engine on site and run it every few months, have an annual steampunk festival etc @The Bogan, you came to the wrong town for restaurants. we have a few reasonable asian and indian options but the Paragon is as good as it gets otherwise. That brewery is apparently just opened, been meaning to give it a go some time. The Highlands have plenty of fancy options but I suspect you are more a hearty eater than fancy eater
