I can only speculate what happened here as I didnt see it but I sure as hell heard it and felt it. We heard/felt a rather large boom at work today, somebody went to investigate and this is the cause. I suspect, as the person had just apparently spent $2k on engine mods, a dodgy fuel rail leaked some petrol onto the battery which caused a spark and the following explosion and fire. From the photo you can see some sort of engine with a turbo, it was a commodore so perhaps one fitted with a rb30det. I feel sorry for the owner, but at the same time its a commodore

yeah, looks like explosion damage rather than a fire.

Really hot but really short. look how the water bottle is charred to phuck, but still intact. like it didnt have time to melt.

that's a pretty sizeable turbo tho. would have been a bit of a kneck-stretcher, wot!.

yeah. I did consider that... but usually with NoS you'd expect a much higher level of care/safety in the installation, so it shouldnt be leaking.

Definately wasn't NOS.

I saw the car in the charred flesh today at my mates workshop, it's phucked. A complete write-off, hopefully with the insurance money I can convince him to buy a Skyline:D
