Now thats one HOT ride!!!

And your questions?

My question..

whats the spec's of the car mate??

cheers

I wanted to take some more pictures, including of my questions.. :P but so far they are

a) after an hour on the road the back of the car emits a quiet but annoying squeak.. squeak..

over bumps, eg the damn pacific highway north of coffs. doesn't seem to happen

when cold.

b) does anyone know a great mobile detailer guy, who loves black, in sydney?

c) Should the fuse box in the engine bay have a cover?

d) does every gtr have little dash rattles on bumpy highways? I've got a couple but won't

go hunting for them if thats just the way things tend to be? like, coming from behind the

dash, or air vents there are these little scratchy ticky sounds over bumps. My other car

is a golf and its solid and tight, so maybe I'm expecting too much of a vintage car.

e) the biggie :D The gear stick has what I imagine was very shiny looking aluminium with the

GTR logo but it is all tarnished. If this is a stock gtr gear stick, is there a stock cleaning

product people use on it?

f) when I open the door(s) they don't hold open they just swing as wide as you like and on

a camber will shut again. The door arm looks like it has outdents on it, which i can just feel,

is that something that can be tightened up or is it just the way it is?

g) there is a clutch rattle in neutral that goes away when I put my foot in the clutch.

Do coppermix twins rattle? I remember reading they don't. Is it the flywheel perhaps?

it isn't enough for passers by to think there is a problem but it is there.

h) it idles at 1200 indicated, is that about right? very smooth but seems high.

i) the speedo reads 10% over. I'd rather it read right, is that tweakable?

specs, well, I'll take it somewhere to check it out see what it does on pulp.

it has a nismo ecu, n1 block and all the nismo r parts... an R1 conversion with the

omori plate in the bay (nismo still have the goodies list up somewhere). S tune

suspension and the weldina exhaust which has a lovely popping on the overrun..

your answer the question g.

i've had twin plate and i've got a triple plate clutch now and they both rattle when the clutch isn't in.

the only way i could tell the difference is the twin plate i found was really snappy(on of off), where as my triple plate is softer and it can be ridden slightly before it engauges.

nice car man congrats.. mine's no GTR but i have one annoying rattle like the one you describe.. over it... and the door thing i think it's called check plate. you need new ones.

umm....

A - Dont know

B - Jet Detailing - Actually, I dont know if he is still in the game, Jason is a member here also!! JETr32 or something?

C - Yes

D - Compared to the newer golf, yeah it would rattle!! Mine rattles, mines an older r33 nugget!

E - Dont know!

F - again, dont know haha

G - Already answered!

H - Does seem a bit high

I - I thinm most speedo's read a bit higher. I'll be sitting on 110 on the freeway from the speedo, and the powerFC shows 105 or so.

Sounds like an awesome car!

Enjoy it mate!

thanks for the answers so far.

Any idea what this is? It appears to have been connected recently. If I was to reconnect it,

where do i go hunting for the big 3 connector plastic block, to plug it back in again?

During braking, accellerating, cruising....where does it do it?

c) Should the fuse box in the engine bay have a cover?

Yes. Get one now.

d) does every gtr have little dash rattles on bumpy highways? I've got a couple but won't

go hunting for them if thats just the way things tend to be? like, coming from behind the

All cars do it mate, my Stagea was the same because it used to rattle and buzz whenever I travelled down rough roads - it was worse in my car also because I had Tein Coilovers which were fairly firm, your teeth fillings would fall out if you hit a big bump.

e) the biggie :) The gear stick has what I imagine was very shiny looking aluminium with the

We'll need pictures for this one but i'd suggest you rock on down to Supercrap Auto and get some Mcguirs metal polish for the gear knob and surounding console. :)

h) it idles at 1200 indicated, is that about right? very smooth but seems high.

1200 does seem a touch high, should be around the 800 mark. Try resetting the ECU by leaving the battery D/C'ed overnight. Failing that - (GTR owners!) Does the throttle body have an idle adjust screw?

i) the speedo reads 10% over. I'd rather it read right, is that tweakable?

I wouldn't bother - if you're going slower than your speedo suggests atleast you'll know you won't get done for speeding any time soon. :(

Overall it's a very nice example, i'd still be happy with it regardless of its discrepancies. ;)

G i got a rattel squike on clutch. and stops wen u put clutch in i went 2 toy shop. and they said something but cant rember but if it get worse sort it coz it apparently will do cincromesh in gear box

The "rattling" sound when you've got the clutch disengaged sounds like the common thrust bearing/gearbox noise.. Nothing to worry about if its more of a grinding noise - its fairly commmon.

Very nice car by the way!

Great thing about Nur Specs, there's very little you HAVE to do :P

Some new wheels if you feel like a change

might look at a more solid strut brace too

Mostly just upkeep. It's already modified quite extensively from the factory

You might want to look at a sound system that works in this country, the only other Nur I have been in has GPS that likes to think we're driving in the middle of the ocean...

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
