after no street parking decided to go to the car park on roe st (right near china town) i think half my front bumper is still in there :(

could anyone throw some ideas as to some decent car parks which have little-no huge ramps/speed bumps.

cheeers.

You mean low car friendly?

I have coilovers but it's not ridiculously low so I don't scrape shit, have no dramas with the carpark at Perth station. Throw a button clutch and a 2way into the mix though, and carparks are always an exciting adventure :(

last time i drove a car with a button clutch was a hire car nissan pulsar i think about 2yrs ago, that thing was a disgrace haha dropped a good skid tho especially when u were just trying to take off normally.

yeah didnt even leave first gear, had about 10 cars waiting behind me last night, was good times.

excellent feed back. cheers for ur input guys.

*Note to self, never go in there again.

im running hks coilovers, and get in and around cbp fine.

although i dont have my coilovers at a extreme low. just take it slow up the ramps and it gets over them fine.

my car is pretty damn low, have GAB Sports adjustable coilovers and always seem to be able to park at ROE ST CPP all the time no problems, just have to go sideways at every turn... suspension has always been okay

"go sideways at every turn" -- so that was you in Tokyo drift? :)

with lowered suspension and a body kit you're always going to scrape on things

with practice you will learn exactly where the front of your car is and how much of an angle you need to take to get up certain ramps etc

i have also found the car park under the library to be quite friendly

"Go sideways at every turn" I think he just means take the hill at an angle and very slowly.

The Alexander Lib carpark is def more friendly if you can get a park there. Less level changes and still close to everything in Nthbridge.

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
